Even when the parents said they will assume the burden of the costs the government said no. Even when the parents said let him die at home the government said no.

In ten years if your over 50 you better not need a doctor. If you're under 50 you better not need long term treatment.

Death Panels are real.

That article is a disgrace. The child was in pain and there was no treatment for his condition. Sort your own shit healthcare out before criticising ours.

My father in-law was in pain and given 3 months with liver cancer.

15 years later he died of an unrelated heart attack after spending the last 14 years fishing and vacationing.

Go read what you posted. People in pain should die.

You validate the OP.

I wish a judge would tell me what to do with my infant. Fucking totalitarians

The Lesson of Charlie Gard

You make a very valid point with the Charlie Gard ordeal but the practical realities we face with socialized medicine are far worse. Yes, end of life decisions being made for you is deplorable but let's look at just the average day-to-day scenarios that affect the typical person. Basic things that we take for granted will no longer exist. The progressives don't understand this. They've been pumped full of garbage for so long they can't be objective.

In Canada, there are around 2 doctors for every 100 persons. It's about the same in the UK. These are the nationalized systems the left most often cite as prime examples of their great "single payer" system in action. What you don't hear about is how long people have to wait to see a doctor. In most cases, it's months to see any specialist. In the US, we have about 0.7 doctors per 100 persons. It doesn't take a math genius to figure out what happens when we adopt their system.

A "single payer" system means rationing. There is no way around that. Let's say your child has an ear or throat infection. You're not going to see a doctor. You'll be referred to a clinic where you and your sick child will wait in a crowded room for 10-12 hours, then you may get to see a nurse practitioner. More than likely, it's going to be an assistant. You'll be given some antibiotics and sent home.

Make no mistake, this system of health care is going to kill people. That will be just fine with progressives because dead people aren't counted into the statistics of health care. The stats only show the results of those who actually get treated.

So just let everyone in a coma die. You again validate the OP.

Keep on digging, you keep on proving I am right.

"Progressives" are nothing more than a remake of 1930's Germany and what they did for the handicapped, Gypsies, Jews and others they felt were unworthy of life.

Lesson of Charlie Gard: if your child is born with a terminal, incurable illness, don't let uneducated yokels turn them into a global circus act

People in coma's have organs that work and there's a chance they'll wake up.

Lesson of Charlie Gard: if your child is born with a terminal, incurable illness, don't let uneducated yokels turn them into a global circus act
So you would not do everything possible to get what you felt was best for your child?
I would. If doctors told me his organs would never work, his brain has been damaged beyond repair, and that he's suffering, creating a global circus isn't what I would feel was "best for the child."

Like I said, doctors only guess. My father in law is one of millions of examples where they were totally wrong about end of life.

Had Charlie been on private insurance the results would be the same..

The "lesson" of Charlie Gard is that raw emotion is more powerful than facts, when it comes to the far right.
Very true. When they say that millions will die if we replace or repeal Obamacare, they are using raw emotions over rational facts.

The truth is, the government stepped in and assumed the role of a surrogat parent over the objections of the real parents. They removed the choice of both parent and doctor in favor of cost under a phony umbrella of 'no hope for the child'.

Turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. They delayed long enough that it became true that there was no hope, or it could be said the moment the baby was born under a universal healthcare system, he was doomed.

The government played no part in it. Why do you persist with these lies ?
