... is it realistic?
Do you think it will ever happen? Why or why not?
SHOULD it happen? What are he pros and cons?

Not in our lifetimes.

The Greece/Euro debacle is a shining example of why: A single currency requires all participants (whether they're states or countries) to play under a very similar set of rules regarding both fiscal and monetary policies. When (not if) one goes off the reservation it throws the whole thing out of balance. Then you're talking about a single governing body that would control fiscal and monetary policy.

On this planet?

No way.

Collectivists use a crisis of some sort to instigate change. After all, no one likes change. All people want to do it be left the hell alone by various collectivist governments around the world so that they can live out their lives in peace.

So what do you do if you are a collectivist who wishes to tinker with the populace in order to exert more control over them? They either wait for a crisis to occur, so that the people will be turning to them for help, or you create a crisis yourself.

Looking at the world economic situation, it is painfully obvious that a crisis is brewing and more than likely created on purpose by globalists. At some point the IMF will probably step to try and "save" us all, and when they do, our freedoms will be flying out the window. So what is more important, eating or having some freedoms? That is the question we will all probably be asking ourselves.

It's like the credit crisis. Essentially they put a gun to our heads and said that if the taxpayers don't fork over trillions to bail out corporate America then they could kiss their retirements goodbye as the stock market tanked day by day. In fact, the vast majority of Americans opposed the bail outs but as each day progressed and people had less and less in their retirement accounts eventually people buckled and gave them what they wanted.

What will eventually happen is a cashless society.

Imagine a credit card implanted on your person. Just think of it, all financial transactions would be tracked by computer. It would end cheating on taxes and hiding money. Put a GPS on it and no more missing persons or running from the law. Put some medical information on it and never have to give another history and physical again, etc.

It's not a matter of if, but when. Control and brutal efficiency via the state will see to it.

Indeed. They can already track you with the chip on your credit card or cell phone.

Not in the sense that individual national currencies vanish. Even with the Euro, nations still have Marks, Kronas, Pounds, etc. But some kind of global 'Euro-like' currency's certainly possible. Just not in an exclusive sense. Wont be the US Dollar though.

Just know that pretty much all globalists and collectivists are secular humanists.

To them, you are just a glorified migrating animal.

Do you know what we do to animals? We use them as beasts of burden, lock them up in zoos, and then kill and eat them at our whim.
