Why not do what the previous administrations did and work on US infrastructure? Start up a project that would employ people that connects major cities and towns with data, shipping, and people traveling.

You could make a project to put High speed rail across the US, and couple large data and even power conduits along it. The present power system could be redone and made better.

Basically what i see is a web of high speed rail connections running between big cities. Along the rail system you would also run your power and data lines. This would create a lot of jobs and really make the US infrastructure so much better. It is the next generation of transportation systems, and it would really be great if they started this project.

MASS transportation is one good works project, I supppose.

Of course there would be losers, too.

The airlines, for example.

Who is going to pay for this?

We have the money, we just do not have republicans in government that give a shit about anything other than making the president look bad.

Who is going to pay for this?

The same people who pay for all liberal bullshit.

Us.

I would like to get some money too. We just have to make those stingy Republicans give it to us.

We'd have jobs coming out the ying-yang if only greedy and selfish American workers would learn to accept reasonable wages.

Who is going to pay for this?

The same people who had to pay for all that infrastructure we built and rebuilt in Iraq for the last 8 years or so.

Having an up to date power grid is liberal bullshit? Having good roads and bridges, so all those new fangled horseless carriages can get around,

is liberal bullshit?

Indeed, the money wasted in the sands of the Middle East (and I won't even get into the human costs, which make the wasted money pale in comparison, on this thread) was staggering and could have been put to much better use.

But now that it's been spent, adding to it would be a massive risk. This money wouldn't just be spent, it would be borrowed and printed. The downside outweighs any possible benefits.

We won't work on infrastructure because it would help the country and that would, in turn, help President Obama. The GOP in our legislatures won't allow the country to recover as long as "that one" is in office. Watch the money flow if Reversible Mittens becomes president. The really great thing about a Republican in office is that you'll never hear about the deficits again.

How many millions a day are we spending in Iraq and Afghanistan? How many cities would love to take an hours worth of that money to boost up their coffers and not have to decimate someones pension?

So why are we still there?
Did Obama not campaign and outright promise we would be out by now?
Why are we still drone bombing?
Why did we have to publicly apologize to Pakistan for a single errant bomb when their uniformed soldiers have fired on ours and they harbored Osama Bin Laden?

Why is Gitmo still open? Why does no one talk about it anymore...as if it did close? Why is the media giving Obama a pass on all of this?

Why is Obama campaigning on "builing the economy from the ground up" - when he has done exactly the OPPOSITE during his term? Why is the media giving him a pass on this also?

Don't know. Ask a liberal.

Did it occur to you that if the budget is running a DEFICIT ( shortage ) then we done' HAVE ( possess ) the money? We would have to BORROW ( acquire it from another another ) the money.
