Since Obama is failing so horrifically, Will Hillary run against him?

Well if the economy was recovering then the president should've been able to say that he would guarantee that Social Security checks would go out on August 3rd then and seniors and veterans have nothing to worry about. Right Chris????

The Republicans in the House are the ones that don't want to raise the debt ceiling.

But thanks for playing.

And when you don't get your monthly check, you will know who to blame...the Tea Party!
Sorry but not true. The dems have been in charge for 5 total years and under Obama he has spent more money than all presidents combined in their first term. Why are you forgetting that? This nightmare is Obama's baby and that's what we get when we have a affirmative action usurper acting as president.

Are you a GI Bill usurper? Did you parents use the GI Bill to usurp what other Americans were denied? Bush was president until Jan 2009. You claim he wasn't responsible, yet Obama is? This is the rightwing stupidity that makes your argument sound oh so dumb.

George W. Bush inherited a strong economy, a budget surplus, and a nation at peace.

Eight years later he left Obama with a shattered economy, a trillion dollar deficit, and two useless wars.

And Papa Obama is turning us into a 3rd world nation

what's your point ?
:eusa_angel:

16 straight months of job growth is pretty good considering the damage Bush did.

And no amount of lying on your part is going to change that.

What will happen, if the Republican House doesn't vote to raise the debt ceiling, is that the economy will be wrecked again, and the voters will know exactly who to blame...the House Republicans.

I hope the House Republicans do what's right for the country and themselves and vote to raise the debt ceiling.

Mitch McConnell is doing his best to convince them to do so.

You gotta love this.... the answer to debt is debt.

How utterly, colossally silly.

Wrong.

Bush destroyed the economy, and when an economy goes into a deflationary spiral, the government MUST be the demand of last resort. Otherwise, you go into a Great Depression.

And it is the Tea Party that is driving us to default. If you say otherwise, you are lying.

You Obama apologists are hilarious... The man runs on a platform of austerity, knowing damn well what's going on, then gets into office and plunges us into debt like never before seen, and you chant "give us more".

We have always had debt.

When Truman was president our debt was larger than it is today.

We just need to repeal the Bush tax cuts and cut spending.

It's pretty simple really.

Under President Obama, government will spend more on welfare in a single year than President George W. Bush spent on the war in Iraq during his entire presidency. According to the Congressional Research Service, the cost of the Iraq war through the end of the Bush Administration was around $622 billion. By contrast, annual federal and state means-tested welfare spending will reach $888 billion in FY 2010. Federal welfare spending alone will equal $697 billion in that year.

Barack Obama and/or Democrats also added over One Trillion Dollars to the Federal Budget in the last 4 years.

Sorry I posted the actually numbers on the budget.

I got a kick out of the Heritage Foundation's made up numbers.

Medical care is not welfare by the way.

About 14 percent of the federal budget in 2010, or $496 billion, went to support programs that provide aid (other than health insurance or Social Security benefits) to individuals and families facing hardship.

These programs include: the refundable portion of the earned-income and child tax credits, which assist low- and moderate-income working families through the tax code; programs that provide cash payments to eligible individuals or households, including Supplemental Security Income for the elderly or disabled poor and unemployment insurance; various forms of in-kind assistance for low-income families and individuals, including food stamps, school meals, low-income housing assistance, child-care assistance, and assistance in meeting home energy bills; and various other programs such as those that aid abused and neglected children.

Actually the stimulus worked very well.

And part of the credit goes to the Republicans for voting for it.

And half the stimulus was tax cuts.

OMG, not the Great Depression!!!!

In a capitalist system with a (nearly) fixed monetary base, prices should fall as productivity increases. Isn’t that what we want? Isn’t that how we create wealth?

Why yes. Yes, it is.

BTW for reference: The Fed back in the years of the Great Depression allowed the money supply to fall by roughly 25% over a short period of time. That rapid deflation was a primary cause of the depression because wages were not allowed to adjust to the new price level. Get that? The Fed caused the Great Depression. Go Fed!

Yes, it's great when the value of our homes falls.

Isn't it?
