As someone who has done a fair amount of reading on Hitler and the Nazis, allow me to highlight some of the Nazis’ beliefs and actions:
* The Nazis viewed Christianity as the enemy and grew increasingly hostile to Christian churches. While the Nazis were still trying to pretend to follow the law, they looked for any legal excuse to persecute Christians and Christian churches.
* When the Nazis felt they could get away with it, they shut down hundreds of Christian churches, shut down many private Christian schools, issued edicts on what all schools (public or private) could teach, and began murdering pastors and priests who were outspoken against the Nazi agenda.
* The Nazis placed the government’s authority over parental authority on any issue they felt they needed to do so. Kids were encouraged to report their parents if they heard their parents utter any anti-Nazi sentiments.
* In connection with the above, the Nazis sought to abolish home schooling.
* The Nazis enthusiastically embraced Darwinian evolution. Hitler and other Nazis cited Darwinism to justify their extermination of “inferior” races.
* The Nazis disarmed any demographic group that they felt posed a threat, such as the Jews, the Gypsies, etc.
* The Nazis were viciously anti-Jewish and murdered millions of Jews, but they were very pro-Arab, and many Arab leaders embraced Hitler. In connection with this, when the UN was considering creating a Jewish state in Palestine, surviving Nazis spoke out against it, and most of them remained ardently anti-Israeli till they died.
* The name of the Nazi party was “the National Socialist German Workers’ Party.” Like other socialists, the Nazis believed the government had the power to control or take over any business, or to issue any regulation on business, that it wanted.
* The Nazis ran by portraying themselves as the ones who would topple the rich elite and who would champion the cause of the average person (hence the name "Nationalist Socialist German Workers' Party").
* The Nazis used abortion as one of their weapons to depopulate groups they did not like.
Gee, now which political group in America seems to be heading in the direction that the Nazis took? Which group or party is hostile to Christianity, hostile to home schooling, increasingly hostile to Israel? Which group or party increasingly looks for any legal excuse to persecute Christian churches and Christians? Which group or party believes the government has the right to impose any regulation it wants on businesses? Which group or party looks for any excuse to push for tougher and tougher gun control, and which one has begun to flirt with the idea of gun confiscation? Gee, who would that be?
