Over 40 percent of Congressmen and Congresswomen are lawyers. There is an enormous amount of money spent on tax preparation from the lowly tax preparer to multi 6 figure income tax lawyers who cater to the wealthy. There are also nearly one million people who work in the tax preparation industry.

The people writing the laws don't want the tax laws to change, at least not much. It sucks but that is the way it is. When you allow an unconstitutional law to run amok for 100 years and grow to 70,000 pages of loopholes, patches, special cases, this is where you end up. A huge work force built up around a mountain of government gibberish and Congressional lawyers there to protect it.

Certainly you could use that argument for many industries. Trump himself even stated that "H&R Block doesn't like this new tax plan".

The tax changes could have a huge influence on the economy, it has to go forward and I'm guessing it has a very good chance of doing so. Really, it's the easiest policy for every GOP candidate to support, it's the GOP brand.
