Side effects worse than the ailment.

Dang, ollie. That's a LOT of pills. I'd have more to take if I agreed to take them..but I won't, so....I don't. lol.
I'm off to the cardiologist on the 9th of march for a "nuclear stress test"...and I had to google that too. But I won't take any pills if they find a prob. Insert a stint or let me fall over dead. Just don't let me hang on and be dependent on someone else. Oh hayell no.

I take 4 in the morning. Was doing 6 quit 2. I check on every pill they give me. I have long grey hair and beard. Tho I am disabled, I have a hell of a time getting pain medication. It really pisses me off.

I have 5 stents and I've done probably 10 stress tests over the years, my next one is scheduled for this coming October I believe. Trust me some of the pills are rather necessary once you have a stent, unless you want more stents and a bypass. I'm living as clean as possible hoping never to need the bypass.

I actually do have to take some pills because of other pills I have to take.

But I'm still here, in pain much of the time and not feeling well the rest of the time but still here. 30 years ago I wouldn't be......

Me too, Ollie. I take Norvasc for high blood pressure. Norvasc causes your feet and ankles to swell up like footballs. So I have to take a second drug (a diuretic) to prevent that from happening.

Also, since I take Viagra, I am constantly bothered by erections lasting longer than four hours. So I have to . . . . aw . . . never mind. Just dreaming here . . . ;)

They actually give people that hang out in places like USMB viagra? Must be a physiological study going on....

I ain't taking more pills. Nope. Ain't gonna.
I frustrate my doctor something fierce.

Well, since we are old and are comparing...I'm taking Tenormin, Lisinoprill, HCTZ for my high blood pressure. They had me on something other than Tenormin and I didn't like it. So I compared with my sister, who is 60, and SHE takes Tenormin. So I told my doc..that's what I want. If she can take it with no swelled feet and such, so can I. Gimme. And he did.

I love the ones that offer relief for depression and the side effects may be suicidal thoughts or may cause gambling :lol:

Well, trust me, if you ever get to the point where you need a stent, and they put you on ISMO; remember I told you ISMO is your friend. Maybe your best friend.

Scarey, isn't it? And how many gullible people take the drugs perscribed and not investigate first? The ones in the morgue. Or the ones in nursing homes totally fucked up due to the "cure".

The thing is, Doctors are damned if they do and damned if they dont.

People will sue them if you don't give them a drug for X problem...and will also sue if you do give them X drug.

What really pisses me off is the advertisement of drugs. It is one of the reasons drug prices are so high. The general public has no business asking for drugs they see on TV.

Didn't that start during the Reagan administration?
Also lawyers did not used to be allowed to advertise encouraging people to sue.

btw since eveyone lese is doing it.
I only take pain medications and sleedping aids. No BP, etc meds at all.

I take vitamins, once in a while. No medication whatsoever :happy-1:

Do we have a knock on wood smiley? :eusa_pray:

Lawyers didn't used to be able to advertise at all. That came in in the 1970's, as I recall. One of the worst things that could have happened to the legal profession.

But we digress . . .

I recall the argument that the lawyers made. something about them never stooping so low as to advertise exactly in the way they now are :D
