Partisan politics prevents right view on US's economic situation.
'The other is bad', 'There'll be jobs again' and other standard political phrases are used to distinguish between the current ruling party and its misery.
"A road to Damascus conversion" in the economical situation is promised once the voter elects opposition party into government.
There are enough people here, who believe 2012 will be a change and USA will witness rosy days. Just like others believed in hope & change.

OECD predictions for 2011.
GDP-to-Debt ratio of USA is same as Portugal.
Portugal had to apply for financial help from fellow €-countries (Germany), and Portugal will get financial aid worth about 80 Billion €.

In German Press Portugal is called 'Lord of the empty cashbox' in analogy to 'Lord of the Rings'.
