Shouldn't the US Government Buy American Products?

    Well, I don't agree with this, the sub contractor should have used an American company, lead free or not....imho.

    Why? Why should my tax dollars be used to prop up American companies that produce inferior products, and cost more? Does this make sense to anyone?

    Just like the contract for the tankers should have gone to AirBus.

    So I guess there should be no problem with people buying from Wal-Mart then...

    Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. From reading the article, I think this was one of the 'yes' occassions.

    and I also guess there is no longer a problem with Halliburton... wasn't the problem with Halliburton that no other company got to bid on the contract?
