Should you need an ID to get a driver's license AND to vote?

Should voters be required to show a photo ID?

And how, exactly, would illegal aliens be able to vote if they are not on the voter registration lists?

Illegal aliens could register under fake names. A state issued ID would prevent this, because they would have to provide supporting documents to prove their identities.

What do you think registering to vote involves? You think you just walk in, give them a name (real or fake), and that's it? You sound like someone who has never actually registered to vote!

Have you even read state voter registration requirements? You have to provide evidence you are a legal resident of the district, just like you do to get an ID.

So if they can fake their voter registration, they can fake their ID.

And how would people be able to vote in multiple locations if they are only registered in one district?

As was seen in the ACORN scandals, they got people to register numerous times so that the people getting the cards filled out could increase their pay. A photo ID would have an address on it, so a person with multiple cards could only vote in the polling place for the address on their ID.

You think they wouldn't fake IDs just like they faked registrations?

Again, the problem is in the registration process. Fix it, and you solve your problem without the need for new entities.

In America there are 120 million statistically bamboozled people. How do we know this, we read it on the internet on a web site that is statistically accurate 99 percent of time, and time and time again presents statistics that agree with the statistics we have seen on Fox and were confirmed by Rasmussen and further confirmed by Drudge. So there. And so it goes....

"The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four people is suffering from a mental illness. Look at your 3 best friends. If they're ok, then it's you." Rita Mae Brown

Can anyone prove they are a legal citizen and therefore entitled to vote without some form of ID?

“I lose sleep over voter suppression,” said Rep. Steve Israel, D-NY. “I lose sleep over the fact that the Republicans have said and they are embarked on a strategy that could deny millions of voters their right to go to the polls and actually vote for a candidate.”

“Democracy’s at stake,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi tweeted Friday, along with a link to the letter.
Nearly 200 mostly Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Bennie Thompson of Bolton, recently wrote state election officials urging them to not to let the new laws jeopardize voters' rights.

Democrats and civil rights groups warn that millions of voters, mostly minorities, may be turned away at the polls next year if they don't have the required ID.

"Voting rights are under attack in America,'' said Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. The new laws are "slowly robbing Americans of a basic constitutional right,'' he said.
