I wonder if the tparty people should join as democrats because I'm afraid that the republican party will use us for their political gain. I know most democrats don't support tparty people but what if a signicant number moved into the democrat party. Would that change the democrat party into a conservative party?

Actually, many Tea Partiers are Democrats. Quite a bit of Democrats voted for Scott Brown up in Massachusetts. The Tea Party message really does cross party-lines. There are more Conservatives in the Republican Party so their message may benefit the Republicans more in coming elections. There are Conservative Democrats believe it or not though. They are currently vastly outnumbered by the Socialists but there are some. I've run into quite a few Democrats who attend Tea Party rallies. Sometimes a good message really can cross party-lines. I think you're seeing that with the Tea Party movement.

I'm from Massachussetts so maybe my tea party views are skewed but we have a lot of democrats in our movement here.

The Tea Party people are sick of the progressives in both parties, although the progressives have more successfully infiltrated and exploited the dems they are in both parties.

I find that to be true as well because everyone is liberal in this country and what I mean by that is that we are all classical liberals at our hearts. We are all libertarians to a certain degree.

Teabaggers are solidly right wing, what positions held by the Democratic party does the average teabagger support?

I've ran into the some that believe in the legalization of drugs.

Many are against the war and the patriot act. The college educated smart ones that actually believe in SMALL GOVERNMENT are pro-gay marriage, anti-"christian values" being regulated by the state, and many are pro-choice... pretty much the exact opposite of the BIG GOVERNMENT christian right. Like I said... I'll take those... I agree with em totally AND I'm pro-gun.

Together we'll make the Democratic Tea Bagger Association... or something like that.

But keep the f-cking birthers and the "values voters" please.

That would be a Libertarian issue, some Democrats may support the legalization of marijuana but not harder drugs.

At all the Tea Parties I've been I've met just as many registered Democrats as I have registered Republicans (with Independents being the most numerous by far).

The ideal situation would be for the majority of Americans to realize that we don't need political parties anymore and that they do far more harm than good and just start voting for candidates based on the candidates merits alone and NOT any partisan affiliations.

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." --GEORGE WASHINGTON, Farewell Address, Sep. 17, 1796

The more the democrats find out about the tea party movement, the more they join the tea party. Massachusetts has a 37% registered democrat party and app 20% of that 37% voted for Brown.

The democratic party was hi-jacked by the far extreme left years ago, with George Soros and Michael Moore leading the way. Democrats have woken up to this and they don't like it. The current administration is NOTHING like the old administration of JFK. They are polar opposites. I am hopeful that Democrats will go back to the party of JFK.
