I pay for my own health insurance, car insurance, and homeowners insurance, I'm confused by the Left's and MSM's portrayal of people who decide not to pay for insurance, who should pay for their loss??

Please take the following poll

I'm confused by the Left's and MSM's portrayal of people who decide not to pay for insurance..

You’re not the only one confused.

What is the ‘left’s’ position on those who don’t pay insurance? As you’ve cited no examples nor any evidence as to the ‘left’s’ position.

Are you proposing we let those without health insurance suffer and die? Insurance places a value on something. What is the "value" of your life? Health care shouldn't be for profit to begin with.

As for auto insurance, I think that instead of making responsible individuals carry uninsured motorist insurance, make it a gas tax...that way, everyone who drives pays...including the uninsured motorist.

Are you of the opinion of most of the Republican Party that they should simply be left to die?

There are reasons many Americans think the right wing is manned by a bunch of loons.

The lefty idiots answer is to make everybody pay for dead beats insurance. Or otherwise, socialism.

If you don't pay for car insurance and you wreck your car, who pays?

If you don't pay for homeowner's insurance and your house burns down, who pays?

If you don't pay for health insurance and you need hospitalization, who pays?

This debate should be a no-brainer. You either buy insurance, or pay for your own decision not to purchase insurance.

Most people without health insurance are healthy and in their 20s. Who is proposing they die?
Insurance does not place a value on something. Your understanding of insurance is wrong. Insurance takes the risk that you cannot to take. Most people can afford $10 for over the counter meds for a cold. They could actually afford $50 for a doctor's visit. Few people can afford $100k in medical bills, which is why they buy insurance.
Health insurance is like any other financial product: annuities, IRAs, etc etc. Why shouldn't people make money from this?
We already have a high gas tax to pay for highways.

Some things should not be for profit. The defense and protection of our populace is one and the health of our nation's populace is another.

So doctors should work for free? Policemen should work for free? You don't think someone is making a profit here?
The Soviet Union agreed with you. The result was that without a profit motive no one was going to do much.

And typically you cannot refute anything I wrote.

Generally the uncompensated portion falls primarily to the taxpayer.

?
How? The uncompensated portion falls to those who have health insurance, which is why hospital costs are pretty high, to pay for those who can't. The taxpayer has nothign to do with this. ANother lie by the left.

yes,, right,, a gas tax.. laughable,, gas tax was supposed to keep our nations highways and byways in good shape,, but guess what? obbieeedooodle wants a new infrastructure stimulus.... so if you think increasing the gas tax will make sure everyone has insurance well then dippy doodle ya got another think coming.

Are you really that much of an imbecile? Using your logic, we should all have to carry police protection or military intervention insurance.

We all pay taxes so that we have police forces, fire fighters and our military. Basic health care should be the same. There is still room for people to make a living, but nobody should be profiting from the defense of our nation...or its HEALTH.

Is that simple enough for your pea brain?

Your taxes pay for community hospitals, moron.

Yes they do, but that has nothing to do with forcing people to gamble with there money on health.

The left wants to eliminate insurance period. The government pays for all losses. If your house burns down, a government crew shows up and rebuilds it. Get sick, the government pays. Have an accident, the government pays for both cars to be repaired at a government repair shop by government workers. Injluries are treated in government hospitals by government salaried workers.

Utopia!

More than 80% of uncompensated care is paid for by various levels of government. Medicare, for example, tacks on a additional component to each payment made to a hospital based on the shared of uninsured people it sees (take heart, you won't have to worry about that after Ryan ends Medicare payments to hospitals). Medicaid does something similar. State and local governments also tend to make appropriations for care of the uninsured.

So government contractors aren't profiting from selling weapons systems and supplies? Fire companies don't pay vendors for supplies?
Police and fire are local matters, not federal, a distinction lost on your two brain cells. In some places fire intervention is actually a paid service. I'll bet it works pretty well too. BUt I am not suggesting that. That is your straw man.

So all hospitals are community hospitals? Is that your final answer?
