LIMA, Peru – Seven-year-old Daisy Cuevas, thrilled to see herself on television with U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, didn't quite understand the predicament in which she had innocently placed her undocumented Peruvian parents

"My mom says that Barack Obama is taking away everybody that doesn't have papers," Daisy told the U.S. first lady on May 19 at the New Hampshire Estates Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland.

"Well, that's something that we have to work on, right, to make sure that people can be here with the right kind of papers," Michelle Obama replied.

"But my mom doesn't have papers," said Daisy, a U.S. citizen by virtue of her birth.

The color immediately drained from her mother's face. She ran crying to call her parents in Lima, then went into hiding, fearful of being deported.

These are tense times for people like Daisy's mother, a maid who arrived in the United States with her carpenter husband when she was two months pregnant with Daisy.

Daisy's parents are fearful of U.S. anti-immigrant sentiment, which for many Latin Americans is epitomized by an Arizona law taking effect in July that gives police the right to demand ID papers of anyone suspected of being in the country illegally.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has said it is not pursuing Daisy's parents. Immigration investigations, it said in a statement, "are based on making sure the law is followed and not on a question-and-answer discussion in a classroom."

why is obama purposefully not upholding US laws?

Should President Obama follow the law? Or what, follow Bush and make it up as he goes along?
Would Obama have let Scooter LIbby be brought to justice? I would hope so.

Let the kid "innocently mention" that her parents smoke pot and the cops and family services would be at the house within the hour...

Sneaking in to the country illegally isn't a crime

Here's how this will play out.

Very similar to Obama's aunt, the process will drag out long enough for the public to lose interest, and then the game will be rigged for the mother to stay in the U.S. (cuz the daughter CONFESSED to Michelle).

Not in Obamazzaro world, it's not ;)

Owe Bama is a disgusting example for a President of the United States. I think his remarks to the President of Mexico concerning Arizona's new law was totally uncalled for. He has no interest in protecting the border. If he did, he would not have sent military there armed with typewriters. Instead he would have sent troops there with guns. For him to be publically degrading the Arizona law when he refuses to even uphold the Federal law regarding illegal aliens is simply a disgrace. He wants the illegal aliens in this country and the people that support the illegal aliens so they can help re-elect him as President. Nobody else in their right minds would vote for this dick wad.

Someone should explain the concept of "probable cause" to these yahoos.

He placed his hand on the bible (I think) and swore to do so. The lying scoundrel.

Just what did Libby do that needed to be brought to justice?

Clinton lied to a Grand Jury and you libs didn't think that warranted anything from justice.

The Hussein's goal is to bring this country down by any and all means, so he can rebuild it into his socialist wetdream. Social instablity through rampant illegal immigration certainly aids him in that goal.

No, I don't think so.

There is no telling if this little girl really understands her parents' status.

I have friends that are documented but they are not citizens. Their daughter (10) has no real concept of the issue. She only knows that they are citizens of another country and they cannot leave unless they never want to come back.

It is rather stupid to expect law enforcement to act on tips from seven-year-olds.

Oh yeah, I forgot. :cuckoo:

so no one is brave enough to publicly defend obama?

No, I don't think so.

There we go......

Why, then, are her parents "fearful"?

thanks for being brave....unfortunately you fail

law enforcement acts on tips from 7 year old and younger....think hard ravi....molestation is the number one tip....yet accordign to you......that would be STUPID

your defense has no merit and until you can show the article is false and why the girls parents are afraid and why they wouldn't merely come out and say....she is just a young girl, doesn't know, we are here legally....instead of going into hiding
