It seems that through our history the education focus on foreign languages changes to external influences. Today Spanish class is a big draw because of the influence of Mexican Amercians into this country and the desire of companies to deal with them as employees. Many years ago it was French and German. The focus of the world though is changing from a centerpoint of Europe towards China. So should we have our younger folks start focusing on Mandarin as a foreign language? Would this not be a smart thing to do?

One thing, it is that it is a more beautiful form of spoken word than Spanish.

Here is a little lesson in how to say I am American in Chinese.
