There is little point in having a moderate on the ticket with Cain. No moderate would vote Republican and certainly no Democrats, so you just as well have another Tea Party favorite.

Then again there’s little point of having Cain as the nominee in the first place.

That looks like the consensus "smart" bet.

And yet, sometimes those prognostications turn out to be wrong.

He has a problem right now. But he could parlay it into something bigger and better for his campaign. Likely? MAybe not. But certainly possible.
