Remember, this is the paper that endorsed Bush. And the reason they gave for endorsing Bush was, you're not going to believe this, they felt that if Bush was convicted of, well, take your pick. I will name the possibilities, at least one major paper calling for his resignation would have endorsed him so it wouldn't appear to be strictly "partisan". Seriously, that as the reason they gave.

And what were some of the "possibilities"?

Bush lied American into Iraq (Cheney said it was a "slam dunk", Americans believed Saddam had connections, Powell was put into the awkward position of lying to the entire world at the UN and so on)

American soldiers died from electrocution and other dangers from substandard housing built by companies given contracts who were Cheney's friends like Halliburton and Blackwater. Remember, they had to be given out "right away", there was no "competition".

There was the debacle at the Justice Department. When a president comes in, he is able to replace Justice Department Officials with people he trusts. It's always been like that. It's the way the system works. What Bush did was fire lawyers in the middle of his term who wouldn't go after Democrats and replace them with "Christian Collage" graduates with limited or no experience.

Bush Administration involvement in Enron.

People dying after Katrina due to mismanagement and idiocy. Then sending out carcinogenic trailers for the survivors to live in manufactured by Bush's "friends" who made lots and lots of money.

They listed three for four others, but these are the ones I remember right off the top of my head. In spite of all that, they endorsed Bush.

And the reasons they give for endorsing Obama? Level headedness. His policies (which USMB Republicans refuse to even look at), his policies going forward (which USMB Republicans say he doesn't have).

"Home prices are stabilizing, the stock market and consumer confidence have risen, and job growth has been steady if unspectacular."

Other reasons? The many, many faces of Mitt. USMB Republicans can't defend any of his policies because he has been on both sides of every issue. Sometimes in the same sentence. He promised to bankrupt us with out of control military spending (money for his friends).

Some quotes:

astonishingly willing to bend his views to the politics of the moment: on abortion, on immigration, on gun laws and, mot famously, on health care

his proposals to achieve a balanced budget, and to begin reducing taxpayer's huge debts, rest on questionable math and rosy assumptions

Americans would like to know now if their mortgage deduction or health insurance deduction would diminish,. Romney won't say.

And finally, they point out that Obama can't run for a third term so Republicans will finally have to do something good for the country and actually work with the president.

My words: They can't put getting rid of the black guy ahead of what is right for America. I mean they can. Republicans don't really care to much about this country. How much they like it is how much they can soak it for.

You have to admit Republicans have been extremely effective with their lies. Obama would release terrorists onto our city streets, Obama gives black people free money, Obama will declare martial law, Obama took a trip costing 200 million dollars a day, Obama is not American, Obama wants to take over the companies, and on and on. And low information Americans, the majority, have been hit with this nonsense so often, they believe it. Look at the Republicans on the USMB. Course, that's a pretty low standard. These guys are arguing that "Noah's Flood" made the Grand Canyon.

AP poll: U.S. majority have prejudice against blacks

In all, 51% of Americans now express explicit anti-black attitudes, compared with 48% in a similar 2008 survey. When measured by an implicit racial attitudes test, the number of Americans with anti-black sentiments jumped to 56%, up from 49% during the last presidential election. In both tests, the share of Americans expressing pro-black attitudes fell.
