shit

Hey I usually have a glass of red or champagne, but he caught me all out! Jerk. Actually this is like the weirdest town to live in DuPage County. Moved here after divorce, taxes a bit lower, county seat, go figure. Always lived in Elmhurst, no one there cared what you drank, ate, etc., as long as you kept it in your own backyard!

I hope it's easier to get a beer in Wheaton Ma college than here at good old Billy Graham Wheaton College. LOL

Trust me, not easy. Sitting in my own back yard, own mind you-not rent. A neighbor has the gall to come and tell me it's not ok to have a beer while grilling. I picked my copy of the constitution out of my pocket and said, "Where?" He went away and stares whenever I have friends over on the deck. I figure he's a degenerate. Best guess, he has porno on his hard drive. :)

uh, yea, trifle easier, especially now that they've abolished that last Puritanical blue law prohibiting the sale of alcohol on Sundays! Finally, no more driving to New Hampshire to buy it on Sunday when you forgot to get it on Saturday. Not to mention that Wheaton College, MA actually has a bar on campus with about four beers on tap. AND, it's even on the campus tour ;)

and nothing wrong with a little porn now and then :p:

Ok, you have a point about the porn. Here, you have to go through a seperate check out in the grocery to buy alcohol, and write a seperate check! LOL. Until about 5 years ago, the restaurants in town could not sell booze, even with a meal. Now you can, but only with food order, not alone-even in bar area.

oh my GOD!!! you need to MOVE!!! where do you live, Boston 1672??? LOL no wonder you drink in your backyard. :p: and I thought we had it tough when we couldn't buy on Sunday! Hell, we're spoiled!

Well... I can top that one. Here in the good ol state... er... Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, you cant even buy alcohol in a grocery store. To buy beer, you must go to a bar. If you purchase alcohol at a bar, it can only be taken out of that establishment two six packs at a time. If you go for a case or more, you'll be making some trips to and from your car. You can drive to a local "beer distributer" to buy kegs and cases, but chances are you're in for at least a 15 minute trip.

On top of that, if you want champagne, wine, or whiskey, you have to go even further and hunt down the nearest state liquor store.

The best I've seen is while driving to Maine. New Hampshire has the COOLEST setup... they have liquor stores off the main highways like normal states have rest areas. If I wasnt so damn determined to go to the warmer south, I'd go to New Hampshire!

There is a joint in Council Bluffs Iowa called Brewskis.... A drive through FULL SERVICE booze/beer store... the building looks like a quonset hut....you pull up to the door ..honk and you are in....never have to get outta the car, this is a very good thing if it is your second or third trip to same store.... tell fella what ya want..he gets you pay and drive out...great in winter time...Its heated inside:D

we used to have one of the drive throughs here in clinton, but it shut down. theres one across the river in fulton IL called eagel river or some such thing thats still going though.

I wouldn't say that Illinois is quite as schizephrenic as our neighbor, Wisconsin, a mix of rednecks and far-left liberals. However, Wheaton must be the headquarters of Churches int'l. I swear there has to be a church for about every 50 people!

Along with Evanston, the birthplace of the Women's Temperance Union, well what can I say???

All the liquor stores in WA are run by the State, but you can buy all the beer and wine you can carry... except from 2 AM to 6 AM. Apparently, late night drinking is frowned upon by someone.

But I ahve been to a few Army posts down south that have drive thru liquor stores. Sounds like a great idea to me!!!

hell yeah, now why would i want to get out of my truck when its raining or snowing??

the greatest thing about those NH state liquor stores?? NO SALES TAX in New Hampshire!!!! :D
