Fox news first reported on the Shirley Sherrod Video and resignation on Bill O'reilly's show at 8:00 pm on July 19th.

Shirley Sherrod was called by the White House during her afternoon drive home and asked to resign, before 5:00pm on July 19th (eastern) when Glenn Beck aired, according to her own words on CNN. In her own words they had her pull over to the side of the road and resign on the spot, before getting home.

The whitehouse fired her based off of Breitbart alone and didn't even do the lady the diligence to check.

Anyone blaming Fox news for this is either a dupe or intentionally dishonest at this point considering she resigned before fox news even reported on it.

EDIT: No people Foxnation.com is not fox news channel nor is it foxnews.com

Pilgrim, seriously, this has already been proven wrong in other threads.

O'Reilly ran this story before anyone else, period.

Sheppard Smith has already publicly attacked his own network for this crap.

FoxNews is perhaps not criminally culpable, but O'Reilly certainly owes Ms Sherrod an apology, and Breitbart should be criminally investigated.

Of course then there's the big blowhard Rush Limbaugh tactic: When all else fails, go on the attack, no matter how ridiculously wrong you are...

Rush Limbaugh said Thursday on his radio show that Fox News and at least one of its anchors "caved" in its coverage of Shirley Sherrod, the former USDA employee who was fired in haste on Monday after an edited clip of her was posted on a conservative website.

So, riddle me this. The left calls Fox "Faux News". Obama himself has attacked them as not being trustworthy.

Yet Bill O'Reilly mentions Sherrod and the full force of the Administration turns on a dime to perform a near instantaneous termination of her without making any effort to verify the veracity of something reported on "Faux News"?

What's up with that?

Breitbart breaks the story late morning.

Whitehouse asks her to resign around 5pm.

O'Douchebag reports on it at 8pm.

And it's still Fox's fault that she was fired? Fox has a time machine now?

The problem is liberals think Talk Radio is fox. Talk radio broke the story in the afternoon well before It aired on Fox, and before she was fired. How these people can Fault Fox for going with the story after she had been fired is beyond me. The only way FOX was involved before she was fired, is in the fact that Hannity said on his show he was going to cover it on TV later that night. However Hannity was on his Radio show at the time, Not on fox news.

so when FOX aired the story, Why would they make sure it was the full video for gods sake. The WH had just fired her Based on the video What more did they need. The hypocrisy is just appalling here. Liberals all worried about Context all of the sudden. All worried about Journalistic integrity all of the sudden. Are you for real or did I die and go to hell where nothing makes any sense. Am I the only one that sees just unbelievable, Unabated, Hippocrates everywhere on the left lately. I mean my god, do they think we are all blind? Do they really think Americas still do not know just how Slanted and Unethical, and wholly nonobjective the Liberal Media is? You wonder why FOX is so clearly in the tank for the Republicans. Because they saw a market where there was none. Media that did not slant to the Left almost no where to be found before FOX. Now FOX dominates the ratings, and Conservative Talk radio is King of the air waves for 1 reason and one reason only. The Rest of the Market is completely saturated with Left leaning out lets. Plain and simple.

She resigned on the 19th in the afternoon and o'reilly reported on it after at 8:00pm the same day with the hatched video in hand. Yes O'reilly was the first on FOX to talk about it but he did so AFTER she resigned.

How is it fox's fault if she resigned on the 19th before FOX ever aired a story about her?

BTW thursday is the 22nd so I dont know why your talking about stuff from today.

The Obama administration is a bunch of pussies when it comes to Fox News attacks

They need to start treating them as news entertainment rather than a legitimate news agency

Actually they did it based off breitbart and his hatchet video alone.

But i do understand the point your making ;).

RIGHT.

And we need to start treating you like a joke rather than as a serious poster. I really thought you had more integrity than most. I considered you one of the few honest left wingers man. But you proved me wrong. You god damned well know FoxNews had nothing to do with having this woman fired or ridiculed.

Bill O'Reilly had already been taped. Everyone knew what was coming. No one at Fox kept it a secret. They're so proud of another "gotcha" moment.

The funny thing is it happened so fast, all of Obama's aids say he didn't even know about it. Apparently, he wasn't "blogging", he was working on an oil gusher, BP, unemployment, fighting Republicans who want to destroy the middle class, Iraq, Afghanistan.....

FOX is responsible for Shirley Sherrod being fired. They are the ones who ran the biased story with an inflammatory edited tape.

Sorry bub. There is no such thing as contributory management boneheadedness when firing somebody.

She deserved due process.

The Obama Administration denied it to her. They have only themselves to blame.

O'Rielly tapes his show early in the day. You don't really believe he stays up that late working? He has to have time to harass his female staffers. Remember, he's a "Republican".

If they aired it AFTER she was fired, how the hell can they be responsible for her being fired?

Seems that asking that question is akin to :banghead:
