Shaq vs the Lakers in 2011 Finals?

Well I was close to my prediction coming true last season. I straight out said the C's would win another ring and came close. I think barring any injuries that were obviously bothering Garnett and everyone staying relatively healthy, we can make a run.

Pierce, KG, Allen, Shaq, and Rondo.

The roster as it stands now has an outside shot at winning a ring. If Danny can pull a rabbit out of his hat and get a Shane Battier or James Posey for Sheed's contract then I am ready to drink the KoolAde again.

When Perk comes back our roster is silly deep.

KG
Perk
Pierce
Ray
Rondo

Shaq
Jermaine O'Neal
BBD
Nate
Daniels
Bradley
Wafer

(with a couple of empty roster spots ... wouldn't Battier or Posey fit in so nicely?)

The Celtics proved that the regular season doesn't matter. All they need to do is get into the playoffs and 45 wins should do it. The key is health and Doc managing minutes. With the goal of getting into the playoffs healthy there is no reason for anyone on the roster except Rondo to play more than 35 minutes in a regular season game. Ray Allen in particular, IMO, needs to take a big step back in minutes per game ... he has average nearly 36 since joining the green and that number needs to be more like 26-28 if we want him to actually hit shots in the post season ... homeboy had no legs in the finals.

To be frank, I really don't want to see anyone except Rondo average more than 30 mintues a game during the pre-post-season.

Of course this means Doc will have to actually play Avery Bradley. I know it kills him to give rookies playing time for whatever reason but IMO they need to do more to develop their young players. The practically gave Bill Walker away and granted he's inconsistent right now but he went to NY and had some big games because they actually put him on the court.

Oh, and with all of those bigs don't be a bunch of pansies come playoff times. You got six fouls each. Use them and use them effectively. I want to see Kobe, Wade, Rose, Lebron, etc getting hammered when they go to the hole and slow to get up and take their free throws. I want to see Pau Gasol all slumped shouldered because the big boys aren't playing nice on the inside. Other teams did it to Rondo and our bigs last year and it worked. There's no reason we shouldn't do the same.

It would just make my year if they kick the shit out of miami.

Well shit dude, way to go really far out on a limb there

Um, no. There's no stopping the Heat. Big 3 aside, they lineup as:

C Zydrunas Ilgauskas
PF Udonis Haslem
SF James Jones
SG Mike Miller
PG Carlos Arroyo

That lineup is decent enough to hold their own against Boston. Then you add a top 10 player in Bosh and 2 of the top 3 players in LeBron and Wade......yeah, no chance Celtics. Enjoy Bigger Baby O'Neal.

That line up gets blown off the court by the Celtics. Don't be silly.

Look, the Heat have some serious talent at the top of their roster and they have picked up a couple of nice pieces. Right now without having played a single game together, they are the favorites in the East because of that talent in my opinion. HOWEVER, the fact that they have never played a single game together as a team is the reason why they are not a lock this year. We have no idea what's going to happen. Teams don't just gel overnight. They might win right away like the Celts did in 2008 or it might take a season for them to get it all together. But this Celtics has been tested. They have been through WARS together and have been counted out way too many times and picked themselves off the floor to doubt their chances. They are a team that knows how to get it done and they have a very legitimate and deep team ... if they make it to the playoffs healthy.

Is it gonna happen.

Nope, sad to say, Miami is going to start a long run of championships. They have have the best SF and PF in the game, the 2nd best SG and arguably the best player in the game. All 3 are good friends and very unselfish players. To top it off they have an above average Center crew (in a league that is nearly void of good centers, Howard and Ming might be the only all-star caliber centers). There PG are more then doable and they have a solid bench.

PG: Arroyo/Chalmers
SG: Wade/Mike Miller
SF: LBJ/Mike Miller
PF: Bosh/Haslem/Howard
C: Illgauskas/Magloire/Anthony/Howard and even Bosh could slip down here with Haslem at PF.

I think it will be Miami beats the Cs in 5 and beats the Lakers in 6!

Nope, they will be the 4th best team in the East. Orlando foresure will best them and Da Bullz are going to be tough! Miami easily has them beat.

Reasons: Pierce is still great. Ronjo is an emerging star. Shaq is done and will cause more problems then fixing them! KG & Allen are close to being done. Perk is nothing special.

Orlando couldn't get it done last season. What have they done to make themselves better?

I agree that the Bulls will be tough.

Make them a jump shooting team and you got a shot.

LOL, with slashers like LBJ and Wade, and a great post player like Bosh, good luck! Not to mention Miller is one of the best 3pt shooters in the game and they have some other guy that is 3pt specialist also.

I know, right? Easier said than done but what else are you going to do? You gotta out-physical and outwork those guys because you aren't going to win in the talent department.

The shooter you are thinking about is Eddie House.

Orlando might not have gotten better, but the C's have gotten old.

Don't get me wrong after the Bulls I actually like the C's. KG is a Chicago product and the C's minus Rondo always seem like class acts.

but the C's have gotten old.

This is so funny.

Yeah, they've gotten a whole couple months older than they were when they took the Lakers to game 7 of the Finals. I'm perplexed that their Big 3 haven't retired yet

True, but they are one season older. It happens to all the greats, they have a significant move to twilight of career. I think KG and Allen are just about their. Shaq is well beyond that point. J O'Neal has hit it also.
