I think the caveat is that suicide is distinct from martyrdom in Islam as it is in the Christian world, where in Judaism, martyrdom is only 'acceptable' in extreme cases, e.g., refusing to murder another to save your own life. So you're technically both right, but you're more right because you're using it in context.
