Seriously?... "Many" Indians are Upset of Geronimo?...

Many Indians irked but not surprised by code name - Yahoo! News

Political Correctness again going to far...

Seriously, Shut up.

:)

peace...

They need to get a life and stop acting like perpetual victims, like most blacks do.

When you let it go, than I can let it go. You people do not name lawn mowers about anglos or anything, so shut the hell up. Until you have been a victim shut the hell up. Try telling that to the white people who had family victims of 9-11? When are they going to stop being victim and blaming every Muslim?
Seriously, Shut the fuck up.

Let what go?

And no I have never been nor will I allow myself to be a victim.

Maybe when muslims stop killing innocent people all across the world.

Many Indians are upset that they are Indians

Fuck you tank, Indians are proud to be Indians. But not happy about ball teams, clothe, and car, etc. named after Indians unless I get royalties from those companies. Or Ford or GM make a Crackermobile.

?

Okey dokey artichoky.

I'm sure crackers everywhere are resentful over that reference. Do you pay royalties?

I grew up around that exact same area with Apaches and Comanches.

Native Americans are serious racist when it comes to the white man.

And they ain't that wild about the government either.

Something about this used to be their land.

And you don't believe you white people have given us a very good reason to be racist? White people don't have the gibs on racism. How about white people using the code name Cracker? Or is that too sensitive to whites?
Not so much as racist but distrustful of whites who have broken ever treaty they ever made with Indians.
Not so much about the land than the genocide.
Racist? You got a lot of fucking nerve.:cuckoo:

If you're an Indian, chances are you don't live on a res. Not many computers, if any at all, can be found on reservations.

Tell me why are your people (assuming you're indian) the poorest in the nation? I mean after all you have more government agencies looking out for you than any other minority group in the country.

That's a loaded question.

Indian Country had a serious hurt leveled against them when we settled the land, and that hurt continued for most of the 20th century.

Their own culture is so different from European culture, and the measures taken against them were so drastic that they are still trying to piece their society and culture back together. I'm not an apologist but just saying...

We took people and removed them from the country they were accustomed to, plopped them in inhospitable country, stopped them from living as they had lived for millenia, broke up their families...and at the same time they were dealing with new infectious diseases and the sudden and widespread exposure to alcohol. It's a miracle there are any left, and that ANY of their culture remains.

Nowhere is it written that they must stay where we "plopped" them. 44 percent of them realized that and left the reservations.

Oh I know that is true now. But it was a pretty serious break for their civilization..it's a miracle they survived, many people faced with the same set of circumstances have just disappeared from the face of the earth; either absorbed into the dominant culture, or dying out...

I just bought some Old Lady guns. Do you have a nice house on land you own? Can I come take it from you by force even though you were there first?

Ive got a deed, so I don't think the police would let you do that.

NA's had treaties given to them. Which were broken time after time. Do you really blame them for not trusting the government back then, or even NOW? Hell, most of us don't believe what the government says either.:eusa_liar:

I agree the NAs got a raw deal. Our ancestors were not as enlightened as we are today and tended to treat each other with something less than civil behavior.

My point would be that NAs, except for those areas where theycurrently lived,
did not have any more right to the land in America than the French or English settlers when they first arrived in the late 15th century. The Indians had no concept of our modern day borders. North America was sparsely populated and the Indians occupied only a fraction of the available land. For hundreds of millions of years this land was unpopulated by humans until the ancestors of the Indians crossed the Bering Sea and migrated southward about 15,000 years ago.

As far as I can tell the fact that they arrived before and set up their communities on some of the available land did not give them a claim on the entirety of the Americas from the Hudson Bay to Tierra Del Fuego. The unoccupied land would have been available for settlement by anyone who wanted to farm it and start a new life, including Europeans. North America was still being pioneered at the time the Europeans arrived, not in those areas already occupied by the Indians, but elsewhere.

Im not against the idea that the NAs deserved recompense for how they were treated and the land that was taken from them, but I disagree with the notion that anyone living in America who is not descended from them is an interloper or that every inch of the country is stolen territory. Europeans did not have a right to push the Indians off their land, but they did have a right to settle the parts that were currently unpopulated.
