In another forum on this board, someone insisted that rather than killing American citizens turned terrorist with drones, we should be sending in soldiers to capture them and put them on trial for treason. Does that make any sense? Risking soldiers' lives to capture someone that turned their back on us, citizen or not? They were making a Constitutional issue out of it, due process and all. Does that really apply , if you've become a member of a fighting force attacking America and its interests? What do people who've actually been soldiers think?

It's sort of illogical to try and capture someone that is actively engaged in terrorist activities, abroad. Generally they won't be hiding..or plotting in places that are easily reached by troops. And considering the damage caused by 9/11...the danger of allowing this sort of activities to fester and grow..is pretty great.

The threshold for authorizing such actions should be high, however.

The Military is already stretched thin as it is, we are we supposed to find those soldiers to send to Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan etc to get there terrorists? can you imagine the outrage if we sent an Army infantry division into Pakistan to get Bin Laden? all that shit will do is start more wars.
