With all the money she collects in bribes she can hire a nanny.

april 18 2018Senator Tammy Duckworth, the mother of a newborn daughter, is calling for a rule change that would allow children under the age of one to be brought onto the Senate floor during votes.

The Illinois Democrat, 50, became the first sitting senator to give birth while in office when she and her husband, Bryan Bowlsbey, welcomed Maile Pearl Bowlsbey April 9.

Current rules prohibit family members, including children, from the Senate floor, but Duckworth argued that the ban doesn’t support working parents who can’t be away from an infant for long periods of time in their first three months.

Duckworth said before the birth that although she would be on an unofficial maternity leave she intends to return to the Senate floor for important votes. Senators are not allowed to vote by proxy, and conflict of interest rules prevent them from leaving their children in the care of a staff member while they vote, Fortune reports, creating a difficult situation.

Now you`re afraid of infants too?

What bribes? Can you back up your bull crap or do you continue to reinforce your solid reputation here on USMB as a liar?
Why do you attack and lie about a crippled Purple Heart awarded war veteran?

Certainly don't get why the RW trumpazees get a reputation as woman haters.
This has nothing to do with woman hating, the floor of the Senate is no place for an infant, just as a board room of a major corporation is no place either.

The most serious of business is conducted there.

It is not fair for the nation, and it most certainly is not fair for the infant.

OTH, the article is very sympathetic. I really do think the Senate rules should be changed for new mothers that are Reps. and Senators so they can cast vote by proxy/via closed circuit., if they are at least in the building. . . perhaps a day care center needs to be constructed?

I really think this nation needs to learn to compromise.

I think that is a great idea!
