Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if those who had their benefits delayed because of the recent posturing decide to take it out on the GOP at the polls this November.

Everyone's taxes will go up eventually. A decade of deficit spending will ultimately have to be reconciled. But our primary concern right now should be to stimulate the economy, and wait to balance the budget. Balancing the budget prematurely will shelf a large economic player right now, the US government. I don't like a large federal government either, but government resources are needed to sustain economic growth, or at least prevent the economy from double-dipping.

P.S. Obama will raise taxes across-the-board in his second term, if re-elected....he has to.

There is no oil reaching Florida, but there is a disaster impact. There is oil reaching Louisiana and Alabama, and so there is a disaster impact. Projects, and the new technology machines, can be created there. Those would be prevention machines, as well as the clean-up machines, ships, barriers, and whatever else has been found to be useful.

There is likely some emergency kind of base necessary, likely near New Orleans.
