Security in Nyala city, capital of South Darfur state is improving, according to police spokesperson Brig. Al-Sir.

He confirmed that serious crimes such as murder and robbery have decreased due to the efforts exerted by the police and security forces.

“There are 22 police stations throughout the city to monitor criminals alongside garrisons,” said Al-Sir.

He also revealed that six criminals have been arrested in Nyala, they are facing robbery charges.

The security situation in Nyala has developed positively, people in the city say that there are no longer sounds of gunfire; people visit relatives without fear and go for picnics at the weekend to the outskirts of the city.

Others believe that the construction of a highway from Khartoum to El Fashir, capital city of North Darfur, is the main reason behind the stability in security.
