This Clapper Turd just claimed that jerking Security Clearances was an interference with the Freedom of Speech...BUT no one with a Security Clearance can talk about what he learned from having a Security Clearance.

HOW STUPID ARE YOU LIBERAL MORONS?
It is a punishment for exercising freedom of speech. Therefore, interfering with it. I wish there was some way to take the Pres to court over this, because a judge would shut him down in a hot minute.
Considering that this is an executive branch function and a clearance is 100 percent under the preview of the president, a judge would do nothing at all.

The real question here is how this supposedly affects Brennan? In truth, there is no actual difference at all.

They can't because the President is Commander in Chief, he also is the head of the executive branch. It's his right to approve or deny security clearances.
And it's not about freedom of speech. Show me one time Brennan helped Trump......

I can't believe the stupid debates around this.
The correct answer is other,
If you lose your clearance for any reason, you cannot divulge anything that is still classified, and if you no longer have clearance, you are not allwed access to any classified information.
Fact, I held one.

Obviously, you know nothing about security clearances.

They do expire.

Yes they obviously expire... in Brennan's case it would have expired in about 24 years lol. Expiry date is set on common sense usability.
You clearly do not understand how expiration dates of security clearances work.

Enlighten us on expiry dates. Please. I say it's case by case.
It is not. In general, clearances are granted on a time basis. Secrete clearance lasts 10 years regardless of the position you occupy. More specific clearances, such as a SAR, are granted based on position and end as soon as you transfer from that specific command.

All of them are, of course, subject to be denied or removed for any reason whatsoever at any time.

For Brennan it would be 10 years even though he could be relevant for issues/cases on which he worked 25 years ago? Gotta admit he had a pretty long career covering an impressive variety of cases. You'd think they'd adjust according to career length ;)

But then 10 years sounds reasonable.

I can't believe the stupid debates around this.

This has nothing to do with the legitimacy of having a clearance. This was a politically motivated move for the sole purpose of getting Omarosa out of the news cycle because of the damage she is doing to dotard, and the fear she has sparked in the White House.

It didn't work, and those tapes just keep coming.

Bull Crap. He is no longer in his position, he is now a "reporter" for the fake news media. Why does he need a security clearance.

The security clearance is convenient for the CIA if they need Brennan’s help lol.
...amazing how many times we need to repeat this :)

It is unbelievable that morons think LAWS and whether they need to be obeyed / enforced or not can be voted on the same way prom queens are picked at high schools!

:wtf:
which laws have the biggest tits???

How long ago is not relevant - with a clearance and a need to know oyu can access any information. At the end of the term you simply have to renew the clearance. Renewal is a lot simpler than obtaining it in the first place.

That does not actually address that he is an atypical case. Normally, you just let the clearance run out. His was removed.

There is no question that Trump has that power. If we are honest, there is no question that he no longer needs that clearance either. There is a concern, though, because Trump did not remove his clearance because he no longer needed it or he would have changed policy and removed all clearances for those no longer in their governmental positions. He did not do that though. He targeted this particular person and there seems to be no reason beyond the fact he is a critic.

The problem with this EX CIA MOUTH is now mounting off on MSNBC. HE DOES NOT MERIT a clearance at any leve..

He doesn't need the clearance. The actual clearance is just convenient for the CIA if the new boss needs the previous boss (Brennan) for input. Makes it easier.

Totally hilarious that Trump doesn't recognize this, or maybe he's twisting the story to make it appear that Brennan actually uses the clearance and wears it like a badge LMAO. Either way, with current divisions in the US, the current CIA boss would never dare use the services of a cleared Brennan for fear of offending Trump (or would he ?).

In house squabbles like that make the US less secure as some future foreign affairs mistake might be avoided.
