'scraping by' on $400,000 a year

We know Michelle won't!

Ever live in New York? My wife got a job offer there, $20 an hour. Of course she turned it down because that's not nearly enough to live on.

Everywhere you drive seems like there's a f*ckin' toll. Why are there tolls when the f*ckin' roads are already paid for and maintained with taxes?

And why must parents spend so much money for Private Schools? Because the Public Schools are sh*t!

Good grief, we make, what? 1/8th of that, and we are supporting two special needs kids and my father in law. We don't get help from the state or anybody else. She's living on more per year than what we have saved for retirement and we've been saving for over 30 years.

Note: Once my kids became adults they did start getting disability and medicaid. We had no such help while they were growing up. My oldest son's disability is $445 a month. Of course, at 28, he still lives at home you can't get an apartment around here for less than $700 a month and that doesn't include utilities. My youngest and lowest functioning has finally been placed, but only after I threatened suicide. Heck the cops showed up to get me and I hugged them. Then told them they couldn't take me unless they also took my low functioning son as he couldn't be left alone. Guess what? They left both of us. Seems they have no problem taking the psychotic mom, but not if they have to take the low functioning son also. The state would not provide 24/7 help for Andrew in our home so now they are paying for an apartment and all the utilities as well as 24/7 care. Plus, NOW they provide him with a physical therapist, a psychiatrist, a behavioral specialist and all those things they said we didn't qualify for when he was home. Why is the state so stupid? You'd think they'd want to save the taxpayers money whenever possible.

Around here people who can't afford private school tuition and don't want to rely on the public schools to educate their children, home-school. Most of them do a great job of it too. Unfortunately, our high-school is taking credit for most of those home-schooled kids. Seems there's a program where, if they qualify, they can jump start college and get two years at the local community college paid for by our high-school. Almost every one of the home-schoolers take advantage of that. Since they do take advantage of that, the local school district includes them in their numbers of graduates even though, except for paying for those 2 years of community college, the school district has done nothing for those home-schoolers.

Or Michelle Obama's when she bitched that she could barely afford spending 10 grand a year on dance lessons and much more if she counted summer camp.

Some people in the US don't even make 10 grand a year.

$400,000 a year is well over 100 times my yearly income. I would love to have that much money. That woman doesn't know how good she has it.

If she lives in NYC, $400,000 is scraping by but BARELY. If the public schools in NYC were better, maybe she wouldn't have to send her kids to private school. If the cost of living in NYC wasn't so high, maybe she wouldn't have to work and employ a nanny to care for her kids while she works.

In fact, if that family makes $400,000 a year their take home is probably way less than that. She has got to clip coupons to squeak by on $400.000 a year.

Don't laugh. $400K in Manhattan doesn't go that far if you own a car and a co-op and have a family and maybe own a small business. The fools who make the rules in congress have determined that you are rich if you make 250K but that's just getting by in metropolitan areas. Funny how the rich democrats managed to start a class envy war even though they are the class to envy.

Likely with such a low income of $400,000 a year for two people working, they can't afford a car. A car isn't a necessity in NYC. Renting a parking space can be as much as $500.00 a month for open parking. Then there is insurance which for open parking in NYC can be a ball breaker.

I don't see a $400.00 annual income for a two income family as being all that much.

That is sad, she should ask Michelle how she and Barry scraped by on that in Chicago

NO KIDDING...on all the royalties from the Dear Leaders self centered books about HIMSELF:lol:

wtf? what does this have to do with ANN ROMNEY?
good gawd, give us all a break

Difference - Queen Ann never earned a cent in her life. That's fine. Who cares?

But, YOU care that Obama's EARNED their money. You're jealous and you don't believe they deserve what they've earned.

Why don't YOU try earning your own way and see how you like it?

I was told here by several posters that the definition of .... poor... was living pay check to pay check....
