You're delusional. If they were going to do that, they'd have stayed all the lower courts that ruled that gay marriage was legal, or they'd have heard one of the earlier appeals. the only reason they aren't letting the lower courts ban this is because the Sixth Circuit allowed four states to keep their ban.

6-3 in favor of striking down the last of the gay marriage bans.
