What's amazing is that public sector people like Flaylo take private sector workers to the cleaners having to foot the bill for their pay and benefits and then smugly announce that it's not that "they" are making too much...it's that people in the private sector are not making enough.

Public sector employees are paid extremely well, and have lavish benefits...all courtesy of the politicians they've gotten elected. It's the "working people" of the private sector that have to foot the bill for that.

Horse shit, and instead of being jealous other working people should work towards getting better deals out of their employers.

If they got the same deal out of their private sector employers they'd put the companies they work for out of business, genius. Only in the public sector do we allow benefit packages and wages that are economically unfeasable. Duh?

Walker has erased a 3 billion dollar deficit without raising taxes or laying off teachers, cops or firefighters. That would fall under the heading of "fixing things". Contrast that effort with what's been going on in Illinois since they elected a tax and spend liberal. I believe their deficit is over 17 billion now and that's after huge tax increases. Now THAT is fixing stuff!!!

So then how do you explain the fact that WI has lost jobs every month since Walker's budget was passed? Is that what you call progress?

I'm in the Army, active duty and I've seen government contractors, which are just private companies contracted and hired by the government with taxpayer dollars, waste abuse and misuse those same taxpayer dollars and as military member I do pay taxpayer dollars.

I'm in the Army, active duty and I've seen government contractors, which are just private companies contracted and hired by the government with taxpayer dollars, waste abuse and misuse those same taxpayer dollars and as military member I do pay taxpayer dollars.

No kidding? Of course companies abuse government contracts...they're being awarded by people who are spending someone elses money...the same people who will give public sector unions lavish contracts in return for campaign financing and votes give private contractors sweet heart deals in return for campaign cash from them. Both practices are wrong and both practices take place because the people in charge are spending our money...not theirs.

Saying the public sector employees should get more because they have a higher level of education simply points out yet another problem with our government employment structure. In the private sector employees tend to be paid commensurate with their abilities to perform a task...in the public sector employees tend to be paid more not because they do a better job...but because of seniority and because they have attained a higher level of education...even though both of these may not improve their job performance in any way. We overpay many of our public sector employees BECAUSE they have attained another degree, even when we pay for the degree being achieved and even when the acheived degree doesn't improve the job the person is doing. Why do we do this? Because it's something that's been awarded in collective bargaining. You can be a terrible teacher, but if you've put in the years and gotten your Masters then you're getting your raise.
