Schumer Had a Different View of Government Shutdowns in 2013

Chuck Schumer in 2013: If Dems shut down the government over immigration that would be 'a politics of idiocy' - Hot Air

"This quote so perfectly sums up Democratic hypocrisy on the shutdown that when I first heard it being quoted by House Speaker Paul Ryan I wondered if it was real. But as you’ll see in a moment, it is real. Back in 2013, Sen. Chuck Schumer was giving an interview to Jake Tapper about the government shutdown which lasted for 16 days in October of that year. Tapper asked whether Democrats in the Senate had taken too hard a line with Republicans."

And here Chucky and Nancy are shutting down the government to make illegals a higher priority than American citizens...

Again, say 'adios' to the midterms, snowflakes...

LOL

Much of the federal government officially shut down early Saturday morning after Senate Democrats, showing remarkable solidarity in the face of a clear political danger, blocked consideration of a stopgap spending measure to keep the government operating.

Haha... you sure are an ignorant f*...

Millions of middle class Americans just got jobs, raises, and bonuses...and you are STILL trying to push the exposed humiliated liberal lie of 'Armageddon' and Pelosi's 'peanuts' for the working class...

This has and continues to be a disasterous year for Democrats...

It's awesome. :p

but hey; the rich got their tax break.

I am not rich and I got one too. Pretty good sized one in fact. The only question is does mine or the rich lose it first. Since the Democrats are so helpful, I am sure in the next ten years they will tax the rich more.

Well, this is why they are pushing so hard for DACA citizenship IMO. If they get the million+ voters they will do well in the mid-terms, if not, they won't do as well. I would not be surprised that if Trump stated that he would move on DACA but the process to citizenship would not be accepted until AFTER 2020 (or maybe even 2018), that the Democrats would not accept any deal.

I wouldn't even be surprised if after the mid terms IF the GOP somehow picked up more seats, that they wouldn't then be more willing to give in to DACA as they wouldn't have to be concerned until 2020, they'd have two strong years to convince them that socialism is not a good system and try and woo their voters with a strong showing (a they build the wall of course).

This appears on the surface to be completely about the mid terms for the Democrats and a serious concern that they are losing so many more votes, not to mention, wealthy donors in California at a rate much faster than expected. This is just by going by the various articles and suggestions on this site and other places.

The support for the GOP within the black community for instance, isn't just growing, there are others I've seen on Fox and elsewhere running for local government on behalf of the GOP. In short, they are listening and not drinking from the kool-aid. Everyone knows how horribly run some of these major cities have been, even Charles Barkley calls it out.
Here is what Trump should do.

Tell the Democrats that until the government is funded, DACA is off the table. If it is not funded by the end of January, DACA is off the table until 2020 unless they can get a veto-proof majority.

If they do fund the government by the end of January, then in addition to the wall, merit-based immigration, an end to chain migration, and the immigration lottery, all DACA residents must reside for 4 years in districts that are already heavily controlled by Democrats.

On March 5th, I intend to start deporting the initial 800k DACA applicants, and by 2020, will have a majority of the 3.6 million deported as well.

Take it or leave it.

The fact that Trump is being hypocritical is okay with you. What the Republicans are doing is idiocy. DACA is supported by 80% of Americans. Make a stand where people agree with you. It is the Republicans who are taking the hard line.

DACA recipients are more American than you and your hateful mobs are. The midterms are going to be adios for you far right racists. Good riddance. You can also say hello Sen Romney.

The Republicans were more interested in playing politics with our military. Otherwise that wouldn't be a issue.
