Very interesting video about how Government-run Schooling contributed to the rise of Socialism, Imperialism and eventually Fascism in Germany between the 1890s and 1940s.

Some comments from the video's producer...

In my 10+ years of teaching, "school sucks" is perhaps the most common phrase I've heard students use to describe their feelings about public education. But this seemingly bitter and reductive slogan is actually quite clever. When taken literally, "school sucks" is perhaps the most accurate and astute synopsis of the system I've ever heard. Here's why...

1. The twelve-year process of an American public education has a dramatic effect on the mind of a child. When we first enter school at age six, many of our best personal attributes are already in place. We are curious, innovative, unique, creative and hopeful in ways that we will rarely be able to replicate throughout the rest of our lives. But over time, school sucks those essential attributes out of too many of us...and replaces them with predictability, obedience and apathy...

Now you know why home schooling has become so popular and why the left is waging its own little war on home schooling. Bill Maher, the voice and face of the DNC calls it Christian Madrassas.

Bill Maher is a mindless sheep. His angry wit & sarcasm has gotten him very far in Dumbed-Down America, but he is far from being an intelligent & informed American.

And the scouts?
Below is an early pic of them.

And the scouts were started by a gay.

This video is fascinating. It shows you where we got our current Government-run School System model from. It's very fascinating, but also very disturbing.

Yes we were so much better with a 50% literacy rate where a poor person had little opportunity to rise above their appointed station in the farm field or factory floor. Education is the ladder out of poverty, why are you attacking it without offering a viable alternative? Don't say home school, there is more to an education than a latchkey kid studying alone behind a locked door and a fearful parent insulating them from the harsh realities and uncomfortable truths of the world.

You clearly didn't watch the video or explore the links provided. Maybe you should? Just a suggestion anyway.

Drivel. Not even worth pointing out all the fallacies in the argument. Your world is pretty tiny and understanding of history even worse. Decent appeal to emotion. Causal reductionism AND cliche thinking. Well done on your failed rebuttal.

Just another Government-run School victim. I can't even get angry with the poor soul. It's all he or she knows. It is what it is.

I watched it and it's jaundiced view of public schools does not reflect the reality, anything that starts out with a Nazi example and then applies it to to modern America is stupidity. Nazis did a lot of things that other countries did, does that make it all Nazi? What is your preferred educational system? Church schools? Home school? No possible indoctrination there.

Were you schooled in the public school system?

Did you really watch the video? If not, you really should. The similarities are truly eery. Check it out.

How odd. How will uscitizen's question about whether or not you were schooled in the public school system be answered by watching the video?

You really should watch the video. It's fascinating. Put your personal bitter hate for me aside for about 8 Minutes, and check it out. :)

Is this all you do on this board snob?

I went to government run indoctrination camp. Since I left and attended college, a private college, I learned that everything I learned about history in gubmint school was false. Literally almost everything.

My English and math skills needed an overhaul, and many of the concepts in science were watered down drastically.

Do I need to watch the video, Paulitician?

Well obviously i disagree. I think its view was Spot-On and reflects reality perfectly.
