The mere fact that plenty of "the masses" don't trust the water coming out of their tap, to the point that buying it in bottles is a viable option, ought to tell you something.

Well, it would tell the person who uses their head for something besides a hat rack.

I actually like your example

One side of the commercial sector makes the public afraid to drink tap water
Another side profits by selling bottled water

The commercial sectors answer to contaminated water supplies

I actually like how you are clueless as to who's responsible for cleaning and distributing water. That would be...government... Naw, that couldn't be the problem...

Wait a minute.....How can the water be contaminated when gubmint is responsible for making sure it gets to my tap in potable condition?

What exactly makes it non-potable?

Is the government adding contaminants?

That doesn't answer the question.

People don't trust their tap water, to the point that bottled water is a multi-billion dollar ibusiness.

That fact doesn't indicate a lack of faith in industry.

Ppl buy water that means they don't trust govt or that means that people find it more convent than bring their sink with them.

Ppl buy thing because ppl want things. To believe that millions of ppl buy water because of govt is too stupid to believe. They want designer water. Put a label on tap and ppl love it. You've seen those hidden camera exposes b4

What's too stupid to believe is the notion that people are merely buying the water for the label.

Lots and lots of store brand cases of bottled water go out the doors, too.

well the taste of it has a lot to do with it .....plus i remember the "Great" tap water around here had little white things floating around in it.....we were told its just Mineral additives.....ill take the bottled stuff.....

That reminds me, I need to call and have the house filtration system flushed......

Costs about $10 a month and I can promise that my water from the tap is as good as any bottled water you can buy.

Ionics is a great company.....

The common man will construct a safe water system?

I understand you live in fantasyland but what proof do you have that these things would exist if left to the "common man"?

The simple fact that it was invented? You think Government invented "clean water?" How about "cooked bread?"

Read very slowly....water system. Now try addressing that.

Here it is again....water system. Got it?

And Nature does well on it's OWN...where do you think WE got the idea of filtering?

Think only Big Gubmint can do this?

It indicates that not all stupid people are conservative. Most bottled water is tap water.

Day in the Life of a
Joe Six-Pack Republican

by John Gray

Joe gets up at 6:00 AM to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still be sitting in the dark.)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show. The host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day)

Joe agrees. "We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."
Socialism at work:)

I was asked about how the free market delivers water and gave an example.

Too bad the reality is too much for you.

You keep digging deeper

Bottled water is the commercial solution to providing safe water to the masses?

We run off a well here, I'm pretty sure the Government didn't invent or install it.

I suspect you needed a permit to drill the well; I also suspect the anarchy lite conservatives don't bother. Permits being issued by the gubmint ya know restrict your liberty. And, anyway, it's all about personal responsibility, ain't it.
So what if you neighbors spray weed or bug killer near an inproperly installed well.

Which part of it is not accurate?
The parts that presume every bit of that self-congratulatory tripe wouldn't exist without liberoidal gubmint programs, and that the common man couldn't take care of his own life without your condescending patronization....Which is pretty much the sum total of that dreck.

How about the part where conservatives opposed it every step of the way. If left to the free market, these programs would not have happened
If left to the free market maybe lazy slobs would actually make something out of their lives instead of learning to depend on a socialist government. The dimwits just want to make everybody dependent on them, idiots.

"If left to the free market..." lol.
Read a little history, you might then not appear to be so ignorant.

LO FUCKING L....

My Dad works for the Government in sanitation... You make it sound like Government does everything so perfectly.

You also seem to fully not understand that conservatives are not against proper regulation. It's people like yourself that say "fine, you're ok with regulation than let’s bankrupt the country with meaningless wars and ever expanding welfare programs and you better not bitch!" Seriously, that's you!

I realize for many on the left (not all) that you argue against your own fictional version of “conservative.” Too you a “conservative” means no Government………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Unless you want to compare them to Bush then they are HUGE Government conservatives…………………………………………………………………………………………………….

There is the fringe Right “neoconservatives” and the fringe left “Progressive Liberals.” Oddly the progressive liberals and Neocons are almost seamlessly connected as one, btw as far as I can tell you fit on that quilt.

Here is a question. Is Government in its current state closer to what you believe “small Government conservatives” to want or closer to what Big Government Progressive liberals want?
Now, when you’re done giving the obvious as fuck answer can you tell me why the Nation is bankrupt, the economy is in the trash and we are in 3 wars currently?
