...Joe agrees. "We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

Right, and liberal farts don't stink.
BTW, an update on Joe, the next day lost his healthcare because liberal medical mandates on insurance companies drove up the premiums and Obamacare employer mandates made it too expensive and cumbersome to continue to pay it so they canceled the group policy.
Its a good thing that the healthcare bill now covers him as well; when the employers trim staff to increase profit margins last year, he would have had no health care insurance.

Then he lost his job because liberal taxes on corporations forced his company to raise prices and they lost market share to foreign competitors and had to cut back staff.
So now all of his friends are covered by the same healthcare bill now. Perhaps it would be better if they had no healthcare...is that your point?

His company stock in his 401K plummeted because investors had to sell stock to cover liberal tax increases on the wealthy.
You've got to be kidding me; the largest drop in the DJIA came during Bush's administration after years of tax breaks for the wealthy. Most (if not all) 401K's are invested in stocks and Mutual Funds. Perhaps it would have been less of a hit if we had passed the Bush-backed idea of investing your social security nest egg in the same market? I don't know...you tell me.

He couldn't get home because liberal environmental groups had a local gas blend requirement that drove prices even higher then the average and he couldn't afford it.
On the bus, he passed hog farms polluting his community because liberal environmentalists were more concerned about frozen Alaska tundra.
Does it hurt when you do this much reaching?

He saw windmills that weren't spinning because liberal politicians provide incentives to build them but not to run them and then liberal environmentalists protested to shut them down because they kill birds.
:lame2:
When he did get home he found his wife had been raped and his family murdered by illegal aliens who had been deported and came back across the boarder. They drank water at a liberal watering station while they crossed the desert.

So he hung himself

Were these the same aliens--11 million of them--Bush wanted to give amnesty to?

I understand and agree with the last point; those who break the law should be in jail--why else have the laws. If you're here illegally, you should be in jail or sent home.

As for your "liberal watering station", I think you're giving us a glimpse into the worst of humanity. Giving water to a thirsty person is some how a bad thing? I disagree with you on that point but understand your point about illegals. Pack em up and send them to jail or home or wherever.

Day in the Life of a
Joe Six-Pack Republican

by John Gray ([email protected])

Joe gets up at 6:00 AM to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still be sitting in the dark.)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show. The host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day)

Joe agrees. "We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

Nice fairytale.

COMMIE PROPAGANDA....oops sorry.

After reading this crap I wanted to puke... Talk about propaganda... Let's all run down and dig up Ted Kennedy and have him bronzed or something.

Which part of it is not accurate?
The parts that presume every bit of that self-congratulatory tripe wouldn't exist without liberoidal gubmint programs, and that the common man couldn't take care of his own life without your condescending patronization....Which is pretty much the sum total of that dreck.

I thank you for the post because I think the very basic thing you're saying is right.

I think that if the FDC went away tomorrow, McNeil who make Tylenol and Del Monte who makes canned corn are not going to start poisoning the American public. Nor do I think if the EPA was scuttled that the water utilities are going to start putting sludge in our drinking water. Or if the EEOC was abolished businesses will start sexually exploiting women and discriminating against Blacks and Hispanics. I'd give it til next Friday . Just kidding.

As always, I think the real answer lays somewhere in the middle.

But back to your post. We can get by without a lot of that. I think it's really kinda cool we don't have to worry about it though. I think that there should be more regulation because it's crystal clear that businesses are not going to regulate themselves. We the People are the benefactors, not the progenitors of all that is listed in the OP. Stupid people, people in denial do to ignorance, some willfully ignorant and others who cannot get their arms around anything which causes them to question their weltsicht (world view) have all posted idiotgrams. Not one has attempted to dispute the obvious, progressives brought about the changes noted in the OP.

I particularly enjoy the posts from oddball, who I refer to as Odd-dude. His psuedo-intellectual approach is both dark and hilarious and never substantive. Of course when all that one believes is immutable and the evidence in dispute is overwhelming a dissonance takes place causing emotion to burst forth. Emotions are powerful and get in the way of thinking. Which explains idiotgrams so common among the conservatives on this MB and on this thread.

Conservatives will remind you this will cost....jobs!

Personally, this woman is doing just fine. I don't need a man to look out for li'l ol' me. Somehow you think you (general or individual 'you' - take your pick) DO need to. Hmmm, one must wonder what you really think of women.

Patronizing bullshit, in the exact sense of the term.

Just make it equal; I can take it from there.

you dont know that Rw....your saying that Conservatives want to drink brown water not clean water and they want the air to be brown.....bullshit.....perhaps many on the right dont like how much all this shit is costing and feel that it can be done but without all the fucking taxpayer expense.....lots of people are not opposed to a system thats out there helping people.....they are against how it is funded....something that the left side twists into your mindset.....

Now go ahead and look at the national debt clock and then reread this OP.

OH SHIT! Who do we get to pay for all this shit now?

Red Herring + Hypocrisy.

Air bags save lives and prevent serious injury. The Auto Industry opposed making Air Bags standard equipment, they were forced to do so. Not only do air bags save lives and prevent more serious injuries they save in the cost of medical treatment.

Oh, and where was your fiscal conservativism when GWB was spending 10 Billion Dollars a month on a war of choice in Iraq?

In the humble opinion of this average Joe, most of the items in the opening post are much better investments in American Society than are complicated tax incentives for corporations and 2 ten year old wars - but that's just me.

:eusa_think: Or is it just me...?

You're not alone, in fact you are part of the great majority. Americans are not callous, hateful or cowards - only the few, the loud and the greedy choose that role.
