Sarkozy concedes defeat

Greece and France are entirely different countries. I've been to Greece. And it's major problem are the Greeks. I've never met such a nasty group of people in all my life.

How the hell is it we have such vastly different experiences in the same countries?

Greece rocked, I loved the locals.

I was there for three weeks. We went without planning anything..and stayed at more "native" hotels. On almost every occassion someone had a "scam" going and the hotels basically sucked. Greeks don't talk to you..they SHOUT AT YOU. Greece, however, is beautiful. I especially loved Mykonos and Santorini Islands. Gnosis was also beautiful. Athens was really dirty..but the Acropolis was something else. The food also got montonous after the first week..and all the olive oil they used..made me queasy after a while.

Italy.

kinda sucked. loved the wine, the food, pasta everyfuckenthing, got old and the people were very judgmental.

You are not this Ms. "Expert-on-French-issues" you portray to be.
And you're not a person to tell me what I should talk about and what not.
Who the fuck you think you are?

The location of residence also doesn't say anything about knowledge of foreign-countries.
But if you want to know, I live in Germany.
Around 60 kilometers from German-French border.

Never claimed to be an 'expert'. I claim - because it's true - that I understand how the European Union functions... I know how their laws work. I don't care where you live, it is irrelevant to me.

Why do you tell others what to do?

You are not the boss of anybody, now, are you?

Comprehension fail, again, Jokey. I don't tell anyone what to do. I merely understand what the reality is and stick to that... unlike our more hysterical posters.

Actually pretty surprising that Hollande barely scraped by. The election was very much everybody against Sarkozy (who is indeed something of a buffoon and wasn't very consistent in his policies).
With Hollande the old elites return to power. We'll see how it goes. He doesn't really have that much room for movement.

It'll go straight down the crapper. Either he gets his policies enacted and they will be disaster. Or he will fail to get policies enacted and the old policies will prove themselves disaster.
Either way France is fucked ten ways from Sunday. The Euro is going away. There is no committment to fiscal discipline anymore outside Germany.

Ok, Two more

Spain and Egypt

Spain was awesome, just don't get to freaked at all the trannies there

Egypt, wellll, the historic stuff was over the top cool, the country blew camel balls. I was able to find a gold dealer that put some horrific stuff on gold medallions for me, which I then sold, at a vast mark-up to new transfers. :muahaha:

bripat is not a conservative, Obama is not a socialist, and we will have to see what happens in France, won't we?

Yep we will, and FYI it isn't going to be a cake walk, Germany can't and will not bail their sorry asses out, so what song will you be singing if the Euro collapses? But then again the good times are here once again, right?

You pretend conservatives are silly. I am no more a socialist than you or Obama. I vote GOP, I will vote for Romney, but I fully believe that we need governance from both parties, not freaky wacks from the far left or far right.

Good post Jake. Too bad there aren't more like you in the Rightie- ranks :(

This will probably be the end of the EU. Hollande is already making demands on Germany for money. Germany isn't inclined to give it, as well as supporting Greece and Spain.

Germany is rightly tired of subsidizing the bad behavior elsewhere in the EU. This will mean the death of the Euro, at least.

Hollande will move toward the center. Merkel is up for re-election, and she is not going to cut France any slack. Death of the Euro? Perhaps.

I love Italy. If you expect Italy or any country to be like the US, prepare to be disappointed. I bet they thought you were judgmental.

Yeah, like the French and the Americans were defeated by the British in our revolution.

Like the French were defeated by the Germans in WWI, along with us.

However, French military forces got their asses kicked in 1940 (as we certainly would have as well, if we had been lined up with them and the British). Their forces fought bravely in the Middle East, North Africa, Italy, and the return to the Continent.

Quit being an ass.

You know we won the revolutionary war, right

Germany would have won WW1 if not for US intervention after the dumbazzes sunk the Lusitania and tried to get Mexico on their side.

The french army was mutining.

We won 2 world wars and got some help in our revolution.

I know that sarcasm and irony are hard for you, RedT.

But, please . . . try.

I am happy for you France! Just a less 2% difference between two candidates. That is truimph of democracy in Europe! In others countries frauds made such events impossible.
