Of course they do. For some reason a lot of people on the left and right not only find everything Palin says and does endlessly fascinating, but every little bit of information they can learn about her equally fascinating. Letterman can hardly get through a show without talking about her - would she be selling as many books if he had stopped talking about her - and that's because he understands how interesting she is to many Americans. A sure way for an American politician who goes to Copenhagen to get people to pay attention to what he has to say about climate change is to include something provocative about Palin in his remarks.
