Not true; through 1984, the moderate Republicans proved the key to victory for the GOP. In 2000 and 2004, the social values conservatives provided the votes for the neo-con and neo-corporatist agendas. The SCVs split in 2008, and nothing indicates the GOP can get them all back in the numbers that we need. You need moderate Republicans and American centrists to win, Rabbi. Otherwise, you will have a repeat in 2008 in every election.
