This is something she is aware of and she knows the burden that it will have on parents of these kids. She should know. She has one. One thing about this is that she is very passionent about the welfare of not just these special needs children but all Americans. She knows that this disaster of a bill passed against the will of the American people will drive up insurance costs and put most with limited income into bankruptsy. Poor Obama. She is making headlines again hammering him right and left and it is paying off for her with the American people as they wake up they realize that she is right.

On a side note, during her speech tonight the crowd went wild when she said this:

"A special needs child probably won't win a nobel prize. Although the nobel prize isn't what it used to be".

The federal medical care overhaul would limit contributions to health savings accounts and raise insurance costs for people including those with special needs, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said at a fundraiser Tuesday for developmentally disabled children.

She warned that new rules aiming to raise $13 billion by limiting contributions to flexible spending accounts amount to a "hefty tax hike" for families of special needs children struggling with health care costs. And she said families will wind up with fewer care options.

"Our insurance and our care choices will be diminished by this new program," she said to an audience of several thousand at a suburban Atlanta arena. "The government's taking over one-sixth of our economy and we expect the government's going to do a better job than the private sector?"

She said that she was shocked when doctors told her the news when she was 12 weeks pregnant and wondered if she would be patient enough to handle the challenge. But she said she believed God prepared her heart for her son's birth during the pregnancy....

I hear it is much worse than that

It is my understanding that Obama is going to establish Death Panels for special needs children. Palin should be very worried that Obama is going to kill her baby
 
Well, let's see. We have:

  • An end to pre-existing condition exclusions for children (including those with special needs, of course)
  • Mental health parity
  • An end to kids (including special needs kids, of course) being thrown off their parents' plan when they turn 18.

I can see how that would hurt the children.

Where in the constitution does it say we must care for special needs children?

If the Teabaggers can use the constitution to hide behind when Social Security, Medicare, Head Start, unemployment benefits and food stamps are discussed........

Every time Palin opens her mouth, something stupid spills forth. I doubt the issue is as clear cut as she presents it here. It never is. Much like her "death panals" clap trap non-sense.

Saying that the proposed healthcare plan was going to deny healthcare to special needs children on the grounds of their lack of worth to society sounds a little stupid, doesn't it?

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

The Preamble never does refer to making Life more-palatable/convenient for "conservatives". It sounds a little-more all-inclusive than that.....despite their insistence that our Constitution more-clearly-defines their Divine Rights.

It sounds like the usual Palin Healthcare hyperbole that is about 1% fact and 99% sensationalism.
