Santorum Compares Obama to Mussolini

recess appointments suck, regardless of which side uses them.

If confirmations weren't partisan nonsense, then recess appointments wouldn't be necessary.

"Advice and Consent" was never meant to include partisan politics such as blocking the creation of a government agency that was already signed into law. It was to vet candidates, not yet another political football.

If you think this tiny little tid bit of comparison about obama and his close socialist/commie cousins is upsetting, then you better get the bandages ready now because your fucking head is going to explode later. The right wing hasn't even STARTED it's campaign against the kenyan and all his FAILURES, BROKEN PROMISES, CZARS, EXECUTIVE ORDERS, SPENDING, CORRUPTION AND OUTRIGHT INCOMPETENCE.

The fun hasn't even started yet and the left wing cry babies are already sniveling. Sheeeezuz.... :eusa_hand:
Mussolini hated Socialism/Liberalism.

"The Liberal State is a mask behind which there is no face; it is a scaffolding behind which there is no building."
- Benito Mussolini

Then Mussolini would not have much use for corporate USA and their approach to socialism by liberal hand outs of tax incentives. Corp USA is king of tax dollar moochers.

Mussolini would have grown large ulcers over such nonsense.

Well, he would have thought what we have today is approaching Fascism.

"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power."
- Benito Mussolini

Normally I would think it's a tad over the top, but in the wake of his so called Recess appointment of a man the Senate Rejected, when the Senate is technically not on Recess leaves me wondering how over the top it really is.

Obama clearly thinks he is smart enough to be allowed to skirt the Constitution when it suits him. Tyrants have been born this way, the best intentions can lead to the worst out come. Every new power Obama grabs up will be used by Future Presidents as well. Unless he has plans not to leave the WH in 1 to 5 years when he constitutionally will have to :)

We hold the same opinions, here, however I am not assuming that Obama will not try to change the Constitution in order to buy more time in office. I did hear him suggest this ambition shortly after winning the election for POTUS. He has no boundaries or honor, nor integrity, and no respect for the Constitution, as he taught this charter as one of "negative liberties." And the children bought it and many are in political power, today....

Santorum really blew this one big time but I'm not sure he knows that yet.

Gawd, that man is such an idiot. But, even so, he really depends on the rw's inability to remember any further back than the last 20 minutes.

This is hardly the first time a progressive has been compared to a fascist. It wont be the last.

I know it upsets you to actually compare totalitarians. But most of them are similar.

Compared to a fascist by whom is the question. It is pseudo-con propaganda 101 to accuse your foe of what you do very loudly and very often.

Old Frothy is the perfect choice for the intollerant amoung the GOP, perfect.

Why do you think President Obama is the first to use the recess appointment?

It wasn't even Bush who started it. But he used it to. Surely this has been pointed out before.......

"President Bush bypassed the Senate and installed John R. Bolton as his ambassador to the United Nations today over strong Democratic objections that he was abusing power and undermining the credibility of the United States."

Bush Appoints Bolton as U.N. Envoy, Bypassing Senate - New York Times

 You're whining like a Democrat:D

So there was Frothy last night, with his moving speech about his grandfather, and a little story about how the guy escaped Fascist Italy and Mussolini right before WWII and became a coal miner in Pa.

But then, he spoiled it. He spouted the idea that Obama and Mussolini have much in common, that somehow we are emulating that Fascist regime in the last 3 years.

And NO ONE CALLED HIM OUT ON THIS, NOT ONE PUNDIT!!

This insults the memory of Mussolini's millions of victims. Santorum said that "Obama is creating a medicaid and food stamp nation," just like the place his grandfather left in 1925.

Another hate-spewer, this time in a pleasant voice and demeanor. Don't be fooled.

They both have alot in common - both believe a central government should have authority over the people....

I suppose the story goes one got held from his feet like a fucking pinata and was treated as such...........

You're talking about Democrats and Republicans right? Because they both do.

I'm sure when Reagan made hundreds of recess appointments, and in more recent memory, GWB averaged SIX times more recess appointment/year than Obama-- I'm sure that those didn't even raise an eyebrow from you. That's called HYPOCRISY.

Stop confusing them with facts.

This is why the far right haters in our party must be relegated to the status of just after the 1964 elections. The moderates, centrists, and responsible conservatives in the GOP know far better than the far right what Americans need and want.
