I am all for it. It should be tuition free. Some states are doing this at community colleges etc...professors and presidents of colleges should NOT be making 6 digit incomes its outrageous. This is the ONE and only good thing about a leftist president in 2020. I won't be paying mine or my wife's loans back...US wants to screw over working class people they can shove it up their ass...I don't go to college just to be 300-400$ a month in debt because we merely wanted a better life for ourselves. Go ahead and take our tax refund idc...

The problem here is how about the millions who have already paid back their loans? Should they be reimbursed, or just laughed at for being such suckers that they actually fulfilled their obligations?

Or others like my niece who just graduated from Western Carolina with zero debt? Was she a sucker, deserving of ridicule, for not getting massively in debt?

Its the same thing with adults, really. When someone reaches retirement age, should their Social Security checks be reduced if they have accumulated savings during their working years? When they die, should their be taxed to death on the money they left behind- getting penalized for not wasting it on booze and drugs, prostitutes or on the ponies?

The student loan business is definitely a racket that needs to be reformed, no doubt about it.

Loan officers need to assess each loan individually based upon the debtors prospects at paying back the loan. If the student is studying a lucrative field like aeronautical engineering or urology- more flexible terms and conditions can be offered. But if they are studying Lesbian Poetry or Black Studies, higher rates, collateral or cosigner requirements or breaking the borrower's leg even in advance of making the loan might be more in order.

Actually the US government DID THAT TO MILLIONS of students. THEY can fix this entire problem. MANY MANY countries around the world have debt free college. The fact the US wants to screw people over simply to get richer then fuck them. My job is to get ahead in life and I won't be held against my will to simply get a fucking education. I know this is meant to be somewhat hyperbolic, but if the left gets their way, this too will come to pass. They want to get their hands on retirement funds one way or another. My guess is they will start decreasing Social Security payouts based on net liquid wealth. This will force folks to dip into their retirement even more. There is already a cap on SS payouts for married couples. If both you and your spouse paid the maximum amount into the system, in theory you should get the maxiumum payout x2, but no, it is reduced because, you know, that just isn't fair.

The left will ultimately destroy the US.

You are not getting the big picture here.

No one is going to take your debt away, I don't care what they are promising this will NEVER happen.

What has been going on is that those at universities have been indoctrinating children to the Left. The Left then takes over the student loan business as they lower interest rates lower and lower so that students can afford higher and higher debt. This is so universities do no have to take a pay cut, even in times of economic trouble when everyone else is. But this is also a bubble. You can only lower interest rates so low, so the end game here for the Left is to give "free" college. Don't misunderstand, this won't be "free" at places like Harvard where Bernie's kids go. No, no. This will be at the community college level.

In other words, the Dims will add to the massive tax debt by giving away community college as tuition rates continue to climb, which will cause community college to become the new high school, prolonging the time kids are able to become working adults.

Dims don't even want school vouchers so that poor kids can go to school with their own, so why would they let poor kids go to college with their own?
