Same sex marriage

Actually 4 of the 10 ARE laws:
#6 - Thou shalt not kill
#7 - Thou shalt not commit adultry
#8 - Thou shalt not steal
#9 - Thou shalt not bear false witness (lie) (ya, i know everyone lies, but it's against the law to lie in court)

Which is what I said...only a couple of them are laws...and adultery ain't one of 'em.

Adultry is used against people in a divorce....so if it weren't against the law, how could someone get a divorce for that reason?

Are you being intentionally obtuse or are you just extremely naive? It is not illegal...as in it is not against the law to commit adultery. Alcoholism isn't against the law, but it IS grounds for divorce.

It really doesn't matter a whit what ANY religious text says. The discussion isn't about religious marriage (gays already have equal access to that), but civil marriage. It's about basic equality. No one would openly admit to wishing to deny gays and lesbians, oh say, a concealed carry permit based solely on the fact that they are gay or lesbian...why would anyone wish to deny such a fundamental right as legal marriage?

We don't want gays armed! Abnormal people are not allowed to exercise the 2nd amendment when we beat the shit out of them! Are you nuts?

Well – said, as it’s a civil matter.

For conservatives, as authoritarian reactionaries, this moves the Nation away from the naïve fantasy they perceive to be America before the Civil Rights Era, when women were second-class citizens, Blacks third-class, and gays stayed deep in the closet.

It is the conservative fear that the Nation and our society is moving toward what the Framers intended, and away from the monopoly on power they once enjoyed.

I will repeat. I am a lifelong conservative. And I want to see gay marriage afforded the same privileges as heterosexual marriage at the state and federal levels. Please do not paint us all with the same brush.

Thank you.
