Andy Williams - Seasons In The Sun

RIP Andy.

How many under 40 do you think even knows who Andy Williams was?

probably not many which is a shame because he was a great entertainer.. They would rather listen to stupid RAP music or some crazy Grunge band..With rap they disrespect women calling them bitches and hoes and Grunge You can hardly hear what they are saying since they scream most of the time..

This is very, very sad news. Andy Williams was a great talent who had many classic songs, and did a lot of charity work. He also had his own theatre in Branson, Missouri, which unfortunately we never got to go to.

We saw Andy Williams about five years ago in Connecticut. We didn't know what to expect, and when this little old man came tottering out on stage, we didn't even recognize him. But when he started singing, he sounded just as good as he always did. It was an amazing show.

Rest In Peace, Andy. All the great ones are leaving us.

An entertainer who never went into politics.

You're a fucking moron

Williams was close friends with Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, campaigning for Kennedy '68 for President. Williams was among the celebrities who were present at the Ambassador Hotel on the night Sirhan Sirhan shot and mortally wounded RFK in June 1968. Williams solemnly sang "Battle Hymn of the Republic" at RFK's funeral, by request of widow Ethel. By August 1969, over a year after Bobby Kennedy's death, Andy and Claudine named their newborn son 'Bobby' Williams. The Williams' friendship with Ethel Kennedy has endured, with Williams even serving as escort to Ethel, during events in the 1970s. He also raised funds for George McGovern's 1972 presidential campaign, performing at benefit concerts.[20]

While close friends with the Democratic Kennedys, Williams was a lifelong Republican.[21] On September 29, 2009, Williams was quoted by the Daily Telegraph as accusing President Barack Obama of "following Marxist theory" and "wanting the country to fail".[22][23] He gave Rush Limbaugh permission to use his recording of the song "Born Free" for the theme to the "Animal Rights Update" on his Limbaugh's radio show – in which a portion of the song is then followed by gunfire – saying "Hey, it's fine with me. I love what you're doing with it." The record company later blocked Limbaugh's use of the recording.[24]

R.I.P.

I saw him in concert about 2 years ago. He still could sing right up to the end. Glad I was able to see him. I always watched his Christmas specials as a youngster.

A true loss.

I remember he was instrumental in promoting the Osmond Brothers

You cannot be civil on a thread like this? You are really ignorant.

Sat right behind Andy Williams in his wife at a show at Grauman's Chinese once. I didn't know it till we were leaving and a girlfriend pointed him out to me. I'd sat right behind the Williams'. I always loved his music. He will be so missed.
