S.F. considers banning sale of pets except fish

Nothing from California surprises me anymore. It is no wonder that they are the dead-weight on our Union.

Each night I pray for God to take her. Just push her into the sea, or magically make her disappear, because California is an embarrassment to the US, and even Mexico doesn't want her back. Even Mexico knows California is nothing but a bunch of losers, whackos and idiots.

Well yes, the majority of the population are....to the everlasting despair of the very normal and woefully outnubmered Americans who live in places that are not San Fran. or LA. They've wanted to secede from the cities for decades.

Oregon is the same. By geography, we're a pretty conservative state. But despite the land we own, we're outnumbered by the liberals and environmentalists that flock to Portland and Eugene, where they impose crazy laws on us to keep us from using our land or having any influence over anything.

I look at the Fed suing Arizona for not wanting to give their State away to another country, and I think "Why the fuck aren't we suing California for embarrassing the shit out of us for 150 years???"

Why?

Because without California, the entire southwest would be nothing more than barren wasteland filled with rattlesnakes, tarantulas, scorpions, rednecks, and right-wing kooks.

Here you go...
they wanted to change owners into "guardians". The objective was to establish RIGHTS for animals. Do you know what a "right" is or will you demand I define that for you, as well?

In 2003:
"Animals need to be regarded as more than the material property of an owner," Dr. Elliot Katz, president of In Defense of Animals, said in January after the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted 8-3 in favor of the measure.

As part of the "They Are Not Our Property, We Are Not Their Owners" campaign, IDA, a California-based animal rights organization, tried unsuccessfully in 1999 to get the city ordinance changed to recognize pet owners as guardians also. Their effort was widely publicized, however, and led to similar initiatives across the country (see JAVMA, April 15, 2001, page 1240)."

"Dr. Duane Flemming, a lawyer and owner of a veterinary ophthalmology practice in Pleasant Hill, Calif., believes that by changing the legal terminology, animal rights groups such as IDA are laying the groundwork for an eventual legal challenge to the status of pets as property.

"There is an underlying goal here, and that is to attain standing at court," Dr. Flemming explained, while noting that animal rights groups have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to sue for the interest of an animal."

Pet owners in San Francisco become 'pet guardians' - March 1, 2003

Have I told you recently what an idiot you are?

FAIL.

You have yet to prove where they were doing this "so animals could eventually obtain voting rights".

I'll give you another chance so that your FAIL does not become an EPIC FAIL.

You're a fucking idiot, dr.

VOTING RIGHTS...that's what you are trying to prove.

Rights in court are not voting rights.

My 5 year old son has rights in court. He has no voting rights.

(I sense an EPIC FAIL is imminent on this one.)

Although, as a general rule, nearly everything done by the City of San Francisco is whack (i.e., approving permits for condo building but forbidding them to include enough parking spaces for the future residents), there is a wee smidgen of merit in this overreaching bill.

Small furry animals are too often purchased as "toys" for small children. Once the novelty wears off, they are neglected, or in some cases "set free" (abandoned to a horrific violent death) in a park. Bunnies in particular are abused this way, given as gifts at Easter. Once the cute little fuzz ball grows into an active adolescent, the family gets rid of it. It's a disgusting way to treat a defenseless critter.

The real problem is parents who do not realize that a living creature is not a placid little animated stuff animal. They are a responsibility - and not suitable as pets for young children.

...and homeless hamsters, evidently.

We need California for the mere fact that it is a convenient place to congregate and isolate the loons. That is the only purpose it has served in the last 30 years.

Are Californians aware that rabbit tastes great?
