That AP link story is weak.. IT WAS 20% of the LICENSED AND AVAILABLE uranium in the US.. The distinction between that ESTIMATED reserves not yet proven or the HUGE CHUNK of uranium that Obama/Clinton put OFF LIMITS FOREVER in Utah is not relevant..

And when Russia is strategically positioning itself to sweep up the GLOBAL market of Uranium, it matters not a whit whether those new Russian owned US mines cannot export.. Because Russia controls pricing on a global scale now and can literally PURPOSELY "underproduce" at those US sites to raise or stabilize global prices to their benefit..

Lots of journalists just don't know or care how global markets work. Or how speculative "unknown reserves" of ANY mining or drilling product really are...

Just explained to you why the export restriction does not matter. Russia can control the global pricing by NOT producing or developing those US sites they now control.. Thus causing us to turn their FOREIGN mines to make up the difference.. Giving the Russians that kind of market control with OUR OWN reserves is a travesty.

Journalists are either lazy, stupid or devious about explaining how international commodity markets operate.. They take advantage of the lazy people who just accept their interpretations....

I can see how that can be a concern!!! I do think all of the different committee heads considered it.

My confusion comes with what you think they could have done to prevent it? I am thinking the most they could have done is prevent the US Holdings of Uranium ONE from being sold... but that US Mine, is meaningless in the big picture.

I don't see how it would have prevented the rest of the uranium corporation from being sold to them??
