Russia to negotiate with Syria to resolve Syrian crisis - Full story

"Russia will hold Syria talks with the United States and regional powers this weekend, it said on Wednesday, in what is set to be the first meeting on the conflict since Washington froze bilateral ceasefire negotiations at the start of the month.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed to hold talks aimed at "creating the conditions for the resolution of the Syrian crisis" in the Swiss city of Lausanne on Saturday, alongside top diplomats from "key countries in the region," Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement."

Thoughts? How effective would this be

Russia and Syria and the USA and "other key countries"----
what are the "other key countries"?

What are your thoughts?
I dont think it will be very effective

I don't think it will be effective either: Washington is not interested in stopping the war in Syria, they only want to remove Assad.
US led coalition keeps bombing Assad's troops and has not done anything to separate "moderate" terrorists [opposition] from just terrorists (Washington has been promising to do it since February but hasn't done it yet).

The United States has sold billions of dollars’ worth of military hardware and munitions to Saudi Arabia over the years, and a new arms deal worth $1.15 billion was approved this year, despite efforts by dozens of members of Congress to block it.

Russia can’t see that the US is seriously fighting militants from the Al-Nusra terrorist group in Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, adding that, though American fighter jets make a lot of flights, they don’t hit many targets.
"And this ‘later’ never comes. [Washington] promised to separate these normal guys from Al-Nusra back in February,” he added.
No sign US is seriously battling Al-Nusra; calls not to fly over Aleppo suspicious – Lavrov

Since Putin started bombing ISIS in Syria last year (Sept,30), 35 thousands of terrorists have been killed (27 hundreds of Russian and post-Soviet states citizens among them), over 12 thousand square kilometers of Syrian territory has been deliberated from terrorists (over 700 towns and villages).
I wonder if Western "independent" Media has reported you guys about that? Oh, Western Media has been too busy to report lots of alleged negative stuff about Russia (no evidence, of course, as always).
