Rush Limbaugh, Get Off Welfare!

What about the welfare Ted Kennedy gets? Who do you think paid for all of that expensive brain surgery so Teddy can live to drink for a few more years?

In a nation where half of the people are functionally or completely illiterate Limbaugh is a powerful voice for nonsense. The poor drudgery jobs of the working poor, the lone person who cannot read, are subject to his bizarre view of America. I wish the fairness doctrine still existed so after Limbaugh got done spewing absurd non sequiturs someone will tell the audience some part of the real picture.

Rush, Newspeak and Fascism: An exegesis

"At other times, Limbaugh has dabbled in wink-and-nudge racism: On his thankfully short-lived TV program, for instance, Limbaugh one night promised to show his audience footage of everyday life among welfare recipients. He then ran video of the antics of a variety of great apes -- mostly orangutans, gorillas and chimpanzees -- hanging about zoos. The audience, of course, applauded and laughed."

Effective social welfare for the rich, and mostly predatory capitalism for most of us.

Nothing new about that.

This is just another example of it.

So, since we own the air waves does that mean NBC, ABC, CBS and all the rest are on welfare as well? And since they do not take money from MY pocket, who is paying this welfare? I don't recall any out cry when Katie got 20 million a while back. Or when the other heads of News programs get large mega bucks deals.

Now welfare would be the old, what was it called, Air America? They couldn't even pay their salaries much less all the costs of running the program. Remind us how upset you were when Al Frankin was stealing investors money to keep broad casting.

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,

The Associated Press reports your new contract with Premiere Radio Networks will enrich you with at least $38 million a year over the next eight years. You are making this money on the public property of the American people for which you pay no rent.

You, Rush Limbaugh, are on welfare.

As you know, the public airwaves belong to the American people. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is supposed to be our trustee in managing this property. The people are the landlords and the radio and TV stations and affiliated companies are the tenants.

The problem is that since the Radio Act of 1927 these corporate tenants have been massively more powerful in Washington, DC than the tens of millions of listeners and viewers. The result has been no payment of rent by the stations for the value of their license to broadcast. You and your company are using the public's valuable property for free. This freeloading on the backs of the American people is called corporate welfare.

It is way past due for the super-rich capitalist--Rush Limbaugh from Cape Girardeau, Missouri--to get himself off big time welfare. It is way past due for Rush Limbaugh as the Kingboy of corporatist radio to set a capitalist example for his peers and pay rent to the American people for the very lucrative use of their property.

You need not wait for the broadcast industry-indentured FCC and Congress to do the right thing. You can lead by paying a voluntary rent--determined by a reputable appraisal organization--for the time you use on the hundreds of stations that carry your words each weekday.

Payment of rent for the use of public airwaves owned by the American people is the conservative position. Real conservatives oppose corporate welfare. Real corporatists feed voraciously from hundreds of billions of dollars in corporate welfare gushing out of Washington, DC yearly.

Whose side are you on? Freeloading? Or paying rent for the public property you have been using free for many years?

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely yours,

Ralph Nader:eusa_whistle:

The welfare is the free use of airways.

I have always objected to these crappy deals for the public.

Rush isn't special in that respect.

You have proved yet again you think Americans are witless wonders who need someone like yourself to tell them what to do and think.

People listen to Limbaugh not because they're stupid, but because they're smart. They have stopped listening to leftist drivel because they've figured out that what they hear from the left are lies and theories which hurt America.

Not me. It proves once again that conservatives are hypocrites when it comes to sucking off the public teat.

Not me :)

Oh and I do not even buy the whole using the air waves is = to walfare BS to begin with. The public owns the airwaves, but they do not Pay Rush for his show, it does not cost the public one penny.

I have yet to meet a hard core Liberal small businessowner.
I'm not saying they do not exist, but there are not many that expect to support the Liberal agenda and put their kids through a good school and feed them at the same time!
