It's all about people fleeing, wanting a better life, and leaving behind their poor neighbors about whom they cared nothing. How basically the suburbs are made up of a bunch of selfish, greedy people who don't care about their fellow man. That's how Obama was raised. And, indeed, it is what many leftists believe. And I have to tell you, folks, the constant push by Democrats to get us into mass transit is all about destroying the cities. Let's take a look. In California, Moonbeam Brown, the governor, is intent -- what are they, $16 billion in debt? $16 billion state deficit, right? Maybe even higher. And what are they focusing on? What is one of Governor Brown's primary objectives? This bullet train, a speed train from nowhere to nowhere.

Why? Mass transit. And the key word in mass transit is "mass." As far as liberals are concerned, leader liberals, central planners, we are the masses. I remember Reagan I think in that famous Goldwater speech in 1964 made a point of saying how much it offended him to be considered a member of the masses, that we don't have masses in America, that we are made up of beautifully, wonderfully free individuals, pursuing happiness and liberty. That we're not a nameless, faceless conglomerate.

New crazy ideas of "mass transit" are just excuses for gigantic taxes that drain the assets of suburban people in order to produce government transportation that nobody wants and nobody can afford while the freaking state under governor moonbeam is going to pot. Are you really comparing the feasibility of bullet trains to flying cars? you know the trains are not really bullets?

Considering that Rush is wrong, and that bullet trains are not mass transit from the suburbs to the city he is wrong. Bullet trains would not improve a local commute as local trans stop in many locations to pic up commuters. This would defeat the purpose of a bullet train as all that speeding up and slowing down would keep it from reaching top speed.

Bullet trains would be competition for the airlines and long distance train lines with few stops. Probably not even so much competition for Amtrack as even their longer distance lines make many stops in small towns. The purpose for bullet trains is city to city travel. Sort of like how airplanes are used. Considering the bullshit in the airports it would be far better to jump on a train to go from city to city than be jammed into flying tin can. Thew only reason people avoid trains now is that they do travel much slower than planes, but that will change with the bullet trains.

The vast majority of the train stations are a fucking disgrace, absolutely fucking disgusting like something out of Blade Runner and that's even after the massive improvements since the 1970's

There's no direct link between major hubs like Grand Central and Penn Station to each other and the airports
