Running out of capacity to store gas. Shocker! Too much drilling under Obama.

Do you know what the difference between natural gas and oil is?

Of course. Our number one export is gasoline, which is refined from Oil.

Natural gas is what all the buses in Los Angeles run on which is why their air quality is 30% cleaner. It also cost less than $2 a unit (what ever one unit is). It's $15 dollars in China which is why scientists are looking for a way to liquefy it so we can sell it overseas.

Even if gas went to zero, many wells would stay open because they also pump oil.

If you knew all that stuff, why didn't you just SAY it? Oh, wait, you mean you didn't.....oops, sorry. For you. No, seriously. I feel sorry for you.

We export more oil than any other country in the world, and most of that gasoline is refined from imported oil.

By the way, all the buses in LA do not run on CNG, most of them do. There are almost 100 buses still in use in LA that use diesel.

The increased drilling for natural gas does not mean all those wells, or even most of them, also produce oil. Your article talks about drilling shale for natural gas, aka fracking. That doesn't produce oil, which explains why I didn't talk about it, I know better.

Unlike you.

After almost two decades of effort to reduce vehicle emissions, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority retired its last diesel bus Wednesday and became the only major transit agency in the nation with a fleet that is totally equipped with alternative-fuel technologies.

Sigh.

This is why I only occasionally write here any more. How many times have I told you right wingers to use the Internet. You sit in front of it. USE IT. Figure out how to learn to use a search engine.

From your link.

Though the MTA has converted its fleet, the agency still contracts with private bus lines that rely on diesel fuel. Of the 187 private buses, 82 have diesel engines, but transit officials say those should be phased out in the next several years.

FYI, 82 is 82% of 100, which is almost 100.

I actually read that very same article, and had it on tap in case you tried to argue about my numbers.

And I thought it was because I make a fool of you every time you try to prove how stupid right wingers like me are. You don't even read the links you post, and you claim I don't know how to use the Internet.

I don't know, but I bet he won't be back to this thread.

I never pull stats out of thin air, I pull them off the internet to trap idiots like rdean, and then let him go find the same article I pulled the stats from to try to prove me wrong.

You are a bonus.

I haven't read this article, and I'm not going to. I already know enough about natural gas to know WHY they are running out of space to store it.
It is not because we have had a boom in natural gas production. This is a one time thing, it will not repeat next year. The reason is because we had a very warm winter across most of the US, which lowered demand. This by itself isn't enough to fill it to capacity. They are predicting a very mild summer. This will also lower demand. It is the combination of a whole year of lower demand that could allow us to fill up to capacity.
If this actually happens though it will be very interesting as natural gas prices could plummet from their already low point. And I really mean plummet, easily double digit percentage wise.

Natural gas is in it's gaseous form at room temperature. It has to be cooled to -250F to be compressed into a liquid. At full compression the psi is 3600. For relevance, natural gas enters a home at 2 psi. If that tank was ruptured in an accident, at 3600 psi, a beautiful fireworks show would transpire. Instant cremation.

Gas Set to Test Capacity Limits - WSJ.com

The boom in natural-gas production has hit a new pressure point: The U.S. is running out of storage space.

Gas output has reached record levels in recent months, thanks in large part to the expansion of shale-gas fields.

That is bad news for producers, who would likely be forced to cut their prices even further to unload their natural gas, and possibly stop production altogether if inventories fill up. But it could be good news for homeowners, as it would lower heating costs further. That could help offset rising prices for other goods, notably gasoline at the pump.

Does this mean Republicans have been lying?

Again?

Where are their policies? Can't they show us just "one". One itzy bitzy tiny little policy that isn't a joke?

Drill baby drill.

You're welcome.
