Rumors are flying around Washington D.C per the Washington Post...Oct 19,2005...states that Dick Cheney may resign over the Plame scandal and be replaced by Condi Rice,Secretary of State, as V.P.

It's a false rumor, but someone is trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy and who knows? It might work.
