RUMOR: Ayotollah Khamenei DEAD

It's hard to get accurate news from Iran, too. They either knee jerk (remember their announcement that they 'captured' a US military jet the summer before last?), don't report, lie (photoshop), etc..

Nope Ahm-mad-as-a-hatter won't become supreme leader. That isn't the way politics work in Iran, His position in Iran is essentially human trial ballon for what ever the Ayatollahs want to send up primarily the supreme ayatollah.

You guys DO realize that as soon as the Ayatollah is dead, I'm A Dinner Jacket is going to end up doing the same kind of shit in Iran that Saddam did in Iraq.

Only this time, they DO have WMD's, and they've threatened to use 'em. Matter of fact, I'm A Dinner Jacket has been quoted that he'd like to bring around Armageddon as a way to hasten the arrival of the 13th Imam.

Personally? When the Ayatollah dies, we should join with Israel and air strike all of the nuke plants.

Then............whoever comes up to power and is PEACEFUL as well as joins Iran with the rest of the world, kudos.

Anyone else? Depends on if you attack innocents or not.

Biker, that would be real dumb. The Iranians are not going to just roll over and play dead for any military attack on their nation. The repercussions would be major.

And the people that eventually assume power after the present bunch is out, may well have a far differant view of the world. Iran is not a simple nation, and they are not in any way stupid.

As for going in just like we did in Iraq, that was a cakewalk, Iran will not be. For the Iranians will be fighting for Iran, not Khameneil or ol' Mad Hatter.

Iran would be nothing more than a speedbump in a military campaign... they would be no more of a challenge than the Iraqi Army and Republican Guard were.... they may not "roll over" but they would be mincemeat in a matter of 3 weeks.. their national military capabilities and effectiveness would be reduced to rubble...

Rumors are spreading around like wildfire all over the internet and according to many people who Twitter in Iran, including the infamous IRANELECTION, Ayotollah Khamenei is DEAD!

Many will shed tears tomorrow.... tears of JOY!

Maybe SNL should run news reports on Ayotollah Khamenei, still dead.

Well........in that case, station one of those missile shooting down AEGIS cruisers in the Red Sea and one in the Arabian Gulf as part of each carrier battle group.

When Kohmeni dies, watch to see who jumps into the driver's seat and see what they do.

First missile launch? Shoot it outta the sky and send the carriers in to wipe out their nuke facilities.

Only this time, leave Halliburton and the failed policies of the previous admin out of it.

I believe they select his replacement by gathering all together and voting. Then if they agree it's white smoke, or is that the Pope?

If he dies, we can only hope it emboldens the moderates there enough to start more protests against Amadimoldjab.

Once again it's a battle of the moderates and liberals trying to throw off the oppressive yoke of the conservative rulers.:eusa_whistle: It worked here in the US of A during the last election, maybe there is hope for the Iranians.:clap2:

So by spending more than you collect, you are a conservative? I could have sworn the last eight years had deficits, huge spending, and tax cuts. I guess that is conservative. I learn something from rayboyusmc to "avoid the hacks whether they are from the left or the right." Or in other words, don't offer them a quarter when you seem them in the street. In rayboyusmc, take a shower dude you are stinking up the library.

News | Iran's supreme leader rumored to be dead

The closure of the official website of Iran's supreme leader fueled rumors that have been circulating for the past few days that Ali Khamenei has died after he collapsed last week.

Further fueling the rumors were the closure of the official websites of Iran’s radio and television all of which were not said to have been closed due to technical problems, the London-based Asharq al-Awsat reported Saturday.

The 70-year-old supreme leader reportedly collapsed last Monday and drifted into a coma but the Iranian media has stayed mum on the issue, which analysts say is because officials are waiting to resolve internal matters and chose a successor.

Several Iranian websites, mostly affiliated to Khamenei’s close aides, said the rumor was believed by a large portion of Iranians because the supreme leader re-published his will a few days ago, years after he originally wrote it in Iranian papers.

According to Asharq al-Awsat, the will is not a personal document but is a political one that includes recommendations for protecting the Islamic Republic from its internal and external enemies and a reminder of the principles of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, laid by the Ayatollah Khomeini.

The will made no mention of a potential successor in the case of Khamenei’s death.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is reported to have met with Mojtaba Khamenei, a hard-line cleric and son of Khamenei, to discuss potential successors and speculate on who the Assembly of Experts, the body in charge of electing the Supreme Leader, would choose.
