…it’d be Bernie Sanders.

Lots to blame on Rousseau….Progressivism, Liberalism, attacks on religion, the slaughter of millions by the Bolsheviks, the Democrat Party, not to mention the 600,000 French dead as a result of their revolution.
There are a few other Frenchies that deserve blame, but Jean-Jacques Rousseau was the brains behind the catastrophe. Perhaps I was too quick in using the term ‘brains.’

1.Notice this juxtaposition: not many years before the Founders of America were espousing capitalism, the free market, and private property, the provenance of every totalitarian revolution burst on the scene, in the form of the French Revolution!

Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

Rousseau was the spiritual godfather of the French Revolution, and every similar one that followed it!

Know what those 'similar' ones were? The Russian Revolution, the Nazis, Mao, Pol Pot……
Right....the most maniacal, sociopathic revolutions in history!
And Bernie and the Democrats are hoping to make it into that pantheon.

a. " If the French revolution was the end of monarchy and aristocratic privilege and the emergence of the common man and democratic rights, it was also the beginnings of modern totalitarian government and large-scale executions of "enemies of the People" by impersonal government entities (Robespierre's "Committee of Public Safety").
This legacy would not reach its fullest bloom until the tragic arrival of the German Nazis and Soviet and Chinese communists of the 20th century. Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the precursor of the modern pseudo-democrats such as Stalin and Hitler and the "people's democracies."
French Revolution - Robespierre and the Legacy of the Reign of Terror

b. Bolsheviks claimed descent: “Historians of the French Revolution, which the Russians saw as a model for their own…”
Bolshevik Festivals, 1917–1920

Government and the collective over private property and individual God-given rights!

And along comes Bernie!

Guess what Rousseau blamed for all evil in the world?
Yup....private property…that’s right: you imagining you ‘own’ anything?

“You didn’t build that!”

2. What Rousseau saw as the culprit, the source of every evil in society, was the same one as does every communist and Leftist, Occupy'er and Obamunist did: ownership…..translated today into ‘rich people!!!
....he blames the existence of private property for a loss of liberty...if you went through government schooling…..you probably believe it, too!

3. This is what Rousseau wrote:

"THE first man who, having enclosed a piece of ground, bethought himself of saying This is mine, and found people simple enough to believe him, was the real founder of civil society. From how many crimes, wars and murders, from how many horrors and misfortunes might not any one have saved mankind, by pulling up the stakes, or filling up the ditch, and crying to his fellows, "Beware of listening to this impostor; you are undone if you once forget that the fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself to nobody."
Jean Jacques Rousseau (1754), "On the Origin of the Inequality of Mankind."
Rousseau On the Origin of Inequality First Part

Guess who followed with the same view of property…and of butchery?

With Karl Marx the attack on private property became front and center. “The theory of the Communists can be summarized in a single sentence: Abolition of private property.”
Marx and Engels, “Manifesto of the Communist Party,” Great Books, p. 425

And Bernie and the Democrat Party want nothing more than to honor their predecessors....Rousseau and Marx.

Bravo!

As the study of history is in short supply in government school, where the object is to turn out more Bernie voters.....grads should pay close attention to the lessons herein.

4. [Rousseau believed] "Private property was followed by laws to protect it, magistrates to carry out the laws, and kings to pass them. The happy independence of the savage, who wants for nothing as he knows of nothing he might want, is replaced by the master/slave relationship of ruler to ruled, which is the result of civil society, association and trade. Thus civilised man sinks into ‘the last degree of inequality’ which endures until ‘the government is ... dissolved by new revolutions...The popular insurrection that ends in the death or deposition of a Sultan is as lawful an act as those by which he disposed, the day before, of the lives and fortunes of his subjects’.
"Wild In The Woods," by Robert Whelan, p.18.

"....the death or deposition..."
He's suggesting same for any who own anything!
Workers of the world unite, and all that.....

No wonder France became an abattoir....

5. In fact, the French Revolution became the first modern administration that used violence as public policy. No wonder it became de rigueur for the Democrats, Liberals, Progressives…every presidential assassin in the history of this nation has been a liberal- or has not been associated with a political outlook- none were right-wingers.
The French Revolution, under Robespierre interpreted violence as the ‘language’ that explained to the masses the ideals of the revolution.
“If the spring of popular government in times of peace is virtue, the springs of popular government in revolution are at once virtue and terror….Terror is nothing other than justice.”
Robespierre speech, February 5, 1794.

Need I remind of the violence associated with 'Bernie Bros'?

6. Simple, and accurate, motto for the Left: ‘Kill! Kill! Kill!’

Started with the French Revolution.

Although attributed to Rousseau, it was Diderot who gave the model for totalitarianism of reason: “We must reason about all things,” and anyone who ‘refuses to seek out the truth’ thereby renounces his human nature and “should be treated by the rest of his species as a wild beast.” So, once ‘truth’ is determined, anyone who doesn’t accept it was “either insane or wicked and morally evil.” It is not the individual who has the “ right to decide about the nature of right and wrong,” but only “the human race,” expressed as the general will.
Himmelfarb, “The Roads to Modernity,” p. 167-68

Sounds totally like today's Democrat Party: it brooks no deviation from their opinion.

Robespierre used Rousseau’s call for a “reign of virtue,’ proclaiming the Republic of Virtue, his euphemism for The Terror.
In ‘The Social Contract’ Rousseau advocated death for anyone who did not uphold the common values of the community: the totalitarian view of reshaping of humanity, echoed in communism, Nazism, progressivism. Robespierre: “the necessity of bringing about a complete regeneration and, if I may express myself so, of creating a new people.”
Himmefarb, , “The Roads to Modernity,” p. 167-68.

It’s the mark of every Leftist movement: death.

None of the totalitarian forms of political plague have the slightest concern for human life:
not communism (gulags),
not Nazism (concentration camps),
not Liberalism (abortion),
not Progressivism (eugenics),
not socialism (theft),
fascism (murder).

They all follow Trotsky: "We must rid ourselves once and for all of the Quaker-Papist babble about the sanctity of human life."
They only differ in the final outcome: slavery, serfdom, or death.

7. Establishing the Left’s proclivity for violence, and their abhorrence of private property are not the only pillars of Progressivism that Rousseau proclaimed.

A third pillar of Progressivism, Leftism, totalitarianism, is that there is no such thing as human nature. Nope….people can be molded into anything government want them to be: “however one proceeded, no people would be other than the nature of its government made it” Confessions (Rousseau) - Wikiquote

Anyone believe that Leftists can change human nature?
Rousseau did.
Marx did.
Lenin did.
Hillary did.

“He who dares to undertake the making of a people’s institutions ought to feel himself capable, so to speak, of changing human nature, of transforming each individual, who is by himself a complete and solitary whole, into part of a greater whole from which he in a manner receives his life and being; of altering man’s constitution for the purpose of strengthening it; and of substituting a partial and moral existence for the physical and independent existence nature has conferred on us all.”
Rousseau, The Social Contract

Rational people see mankind for what it is, ruthless, competitive, striving and acquisitive….no matter his society or nation.

There is this: “Human nature is the one constant through human history. It is always there.”—Thucydides

And this….. “The Soviet Union attempted to create the New Soviet Man with gulags, psychiatric hospitals, and firing squads for seventy years and succeeded only in producing a more corrupt culture.”
Bork, “Slouching Toward Gomorrah,” p. 198

Yet Progressives cling to Rousseau and dangerous and clearly erroneous beliefs....and government school grads vote for them.

9. Let’s review what Rousseau brought to modernity: a political doctrine, subscribed to by Progressives, Communists, Nazis, Liberals, Leftists:

a. terror and violence acceptable as government policy

b. no natural rights given to individuals, by the Creator. In fact….the view that there is no Creator

c. that human nature can be altered by government

d. private property is evil, and is responsible for all evil in the world

e. the collective as the dominant feature of society, not the individual (who has only those ‘rights’ that the collective allows).

Why does the liberal establishment, the segment that controls the colleges and universities, wish that American students ignore, remain ignorant about, this historically critical event???

Possibly because students might put two and two together and see this pattern:
a) psychopaths like Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Fidel, and Chavez use a mob of rabble to gain power,
b) with the same justification, the same objectives, and the same bloody results.
And, might then notice that c) all were praised in the pages of the New York Times,
and d) all were supported by the Democratic Party.

Soooo....is Bernie a socialist? Communist? Fascist?

WHAT??? You've been tricked into believing that there is any real difference between 'em????

10. For the origins of fascism, search through the Romantic nationalism of the 18th century, and the philosophy of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who might even be called the ‘Father of Modern Fascism.’

a. The French Revolution was the first totalitarian revolution: a nationalist, populist uprising, led and manipulated by an intellectual vanguard determined to replace Christianity with a political religion.

b. It glorified ‘the people,’ and anointed the revolutionary vanguard as their priests.

c. It abridged the rights of the individual: “The people is always worth more than the individual.” Robespierre.

d. Robespierre’s view was based on Rousseau’s theory of the general will: individuals who live in accordance with the general will are ‘free’ and ‘virtuous’ while those who defy it are criminals, fools, or heretics.
http://www.constitution.org/jjr/polecon.htm

The philosophy of Rousseau included:

a. Rousseau: mechanisms of democracy such as voting, representative bodies, etc. are “hardly ever necessary where the government is well-intentioned.” Brandishings

b. “For the rulers well know that the general will is always on the side which is most favorable to the public interest, that is to say, the most equitable; so that it is needful only to act justly to be certain of following the general will.” Jean-Jacques Rousseau, “The Social Contract and Discourses,” trans. G.D.H.Cole, p. 297

c. Rousseau points out, in ‘The Social Contract,’ that a weakness of Christianity was that “men have never known whether they ought to obey the civil ruler or priest” (God or Caesar), so it would be better for all to have a society were religion and politics were one.

And yet, this is the political philosophy Progressives have been infecting America with for going on two centuries.

No subject.....(citizen?) dare disagree with 'the general will'....i.e., the government.

I hope you're not looking for an argument or debate?
Bernie's supporters are whistling past the graveyard hoping no one notices that Bernie's a communist in democrat blue pants suit.

I always provide material that should encourage the Left to offer argument or dispute.....but, sadly, they never learned to do any more than accept the propaganda in government school.

Seems they learned only these counter-arguments:
"Oh, yeah....sez you!"
or
"Is not, isssssss noootttttt!!!"

Coulter put it this way:

"Let me give you a little tip: if you want liberalism to continue in this country, you have to realize that liberal students are being let down by their professors! They have liberal school teachers, and read the liberal press! Because of this weak preparation, they are unable to argue, to think beyond the first knee-jerk impulse. They can’t put together a logical thought. Now, compare that to a college Republican…"

I just love the irony. You say the Left never learned to offer argument or dispute when all you do is cut and paste the thoughts of others. You say they only learned "sez you" while you stoop to school yard insults when you can't refute an argument. Priceless.

How does chattel slavery fit within your definition of a "free market"? July 4, 1776 represents a counterrevolution among White Christian settlers on the North American mainland due to their perception that London was moving rapidly towards abolition.

"Somerset v Stewart (1772) 98 ER 499 (also known as Somersett's case, and in State Trials as v. XX Sommersett v Steuart) is a famous judgment of the Court of King's Bench in 1772 on labour law and human rights,[1] which held that chattel slavery was unsupported by the common law in England and Wales, although the position elsewhere in the British Empire was left ambiguous."

Exactly. The dems are programmed to believe that they are always right, know critical thinking, are smarter, and know whats best for everyone.
I'm constantly asking them for links to prove their bullshit, and they never provide any proof, its just a food fight.
I love that Trump is requiring free speech in colleges so that both sides can be presented without bias.
We'll see if that works out in practice.

The entire thread is based on fiction. The declaration and constitution do not support what is claimed by the propagandist in chief.

A repuke in college is a rarerty as they can not put together cognitive ideas or even ideas that have some sort of clarity. Those who do speak at colleges only utter propaganda for the repukes and hate for America.

I never said it did....

The desire to end slavery comes from here:

Genesis 1:26-27 NIV
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
